eurydice (1)

I've been trying to piece together information to help identify Benjamin's parents (as many have done before me). Through census records, bible records and Raymond Fouts' book, I've come up with a few points to ponder...

Given: Priscilla Parker was the daughter of Willis Parker. She was probably married to Robert Parker (Daniel, Richard, Richard, Richard, William). She and Robert are most commonly thought to be the parents of Benjamin.

Robert Parker had a 2nd marriage to Abigail. In R. Fouts' book concerning a division of land, Priscilla Sidny Parker is said to be the daughter of Robert and Abigail. However, Priscilla (m. Benjamin Hayes) named two of her children Willis Riddick Hayes and Robert Parker Hayes. It seems unlikely that 1) Abigail would name her daughter after her husband's late wife, 2) Abigail's daughter would name two children after the parents of her husband's late wife. More likely, Priscilla was the daughter of Robert Parker and Priscilla Riddick.

Eurydice Parker may have been a sister of Benjamin Parker.  Mary Parker (m. William Little) was a daughter of Benjamin Parker and Nancy Anderson.  Mary Parker named one of her daughters Eurydice.

Benjamin's probable sister, Eurydice, married Abraham Anderson.  Benjamin married Nancy Anderson.  It appears these Andersons were brother and sister.

Benjamin Parker and family moved to Louisiana.  It appears that Abraham and Eurydice moved there for a short period of time, abt. 1812 to 1818, which was not long enough to be counted in any census. However, two of their children were born there.  It appears they returned to Mississpippi.

The Parker, Riddick, Hayes and Eure families were neighbors for many years. They intermarried, witnessed transactions for each other, named their children after each other... I did find a Benjamin Franklin Eure, but have not made even a circumstantial connection (yet).  And while it may be a far fetched idea, the name Euredice/Eurydice is rare unless you're dealing with Greek mythology. Could it be that someone found a way to name their daughter after the Eure family?
