Richard Parker III was living in Chowan Co., NC in 1729 but he did not move to NC, In 1728 VA and NC agree to have the diving line between the two states resurveyed as there was a big dispute between the two states as to where the border was located . After the line was run Richard Parker III now lived just over the border in NC and he now has land in both states.
Richard Parker III had at least two wives and maybe three. (1) His first was either Elizabeth (King) or Swann. I have no good proof on either name but I have put his first wife as Elizabeth (King) in my file. We know Elizabeth died about 1728. His wife at his death was Hanna, this information from Chowan court records. He had children by both wives.

Family History The Hunters and the Vestry of St. Paul’s Parish, Chowan, N. C.
Until the 1740s St. Paul’s Church, founded in Edenton, NC in 1701, served the whole parish. As the community grew, other parts of the precinct needed additional houses of worship. Costen’s Chapel was built in 1741 by Richard Bond and Jonathan Parker on land James Costen donated from his plantation. Knotty Pine Chapel dates from 1742, and the vestry minutes attribute its construction to Parker. Farlee Chapel was the third. These were located north of Edenton. Costen’s, also called Costan’s and Constant’s, was near the mill of Isaac Hunter on Bennett’s Creek and Meherrin Swamp. Knotty Pine, near Sarum, was in the northwest. Farlee was on Indian Town Creek near Ballard’s Bridge, a few miles north of Edenton. A sole minister of the parish conducted one service a month at each. The locations of these four chapels are shown on An Accurate Map of North and South Carolina with Their Indian Frontiers . . . by Henry Mouzon and others (London: Robt. Sayer and J. Bennett, May 30, 1775). Today the sites of the three chapels are in Gates County. St. Paul’s is in Chowan County.
Served in the Revolution as a patriot of NC (DAR National Number 577733). Jonathan Parker only furnished supplies , he had a son Cader that did serve.
From page 29 of Following The Land by Raymond Parker Fouts. On 20 October 1743, Jonathan Parker proved in court that his family consisted of seven white persons, including himself. Charity his wife, William, Rachel,Jess, Elizabeth and Persilia. She then said that Charity is the daugher of John Benton and I agree because Priscilla Parker Badgett named one of her sons Benton Badgett.
On page 15and page 29 of Following the land, Mrs. Fouts also states that Jonathan Parker is the son of Richard Parker III.
I agree with Mrs. Fouts because Jonathan is also listed in Richard III will as a son.
She also said that Jonathan apparently died after Hertford Co., was formed in 1759,and before Gates was formed in 1779.
I will prove that instead he moved to Granville Co., N.C. instead by using land deeds, court records and then by his will.

Parkers’ Farm
Henry Dale Parker
Paul Reagor Parker
In the late nineteenth century, innovation in the field of livestock breeding resulted in more productive beef cattle and swine herds. A brief review of Parkers’ Farm identifies this Century Farm as a key contributor to the popularity of Angus cattle in Middle Tennessee. Located in the Raus Community of Bedford County, Parkers’ Farm is one of the oldest in Bedford County. Elijah Parker, a North Carolina native, established the homestead in the early 1800s and acquired the title in 1812. Parker was married twice but his first wife, Mary Harris Parker, bore all of his fourteen children. Active in local politics and community affairs, Elijah also farmed over 400 acres of land, cultivating clover, cattle, horses, and grain.
Elijah and Mary’s son Daniel Parker acquired about 410 acres of the farm in 1850. A prominent Bedford County politician, Daniel Parker served in the Tennessee House of Representatives in 1861. Like those of his neighbors, Parker’s farm yielded small grains and livestock. Daniel also married three times and had four children.
By 1885 Henry T. Parker, Daniel’s son by his third wife Susan W. G. Parker, had acquired 374 acres of Parkers’ Farm. He continued to grow the same crops as his grandfather and father, but Henry was an innovator in livestock production. The first member of the American Angus Association in Tennessee, Parker played a key role in introducing the Angus breed to the region.
Daniel W. Parker, the third of Henry and May Shofner Parker’s five children, inherited 200 acres of the farm in 1936. Like his father, Daniel was eager to improve farm efficiency. In 1936, intrigued by the federal government’s Rural Electric Co-op program, he helped to organize the Duck River Electric Membership Corporation. Daniel served as its secretary/treasurer until the early 1970s.
In 1972, Henry Dale and Paul Reagor Parker, the great great grandsons of Elijah Parker, inherited the family farm of 200 acres.
