FL/AL Parkers?

Hi guys,

I'm trying to trace my history, unfortunately I didn't have much to start with. Honestly, I can't get past the Great Grandparent's. Its like they drop off before that, no marriage or census records, nothing. My grandmother once told me that she thought my great great grandfather's name was Isaac, but I can't find anything to prove that. She also swore we were Indian  (I'm supposed to be 1/64) but again, I've not found anything to support any of that. I'm hoping someone can help me get past this gap so I can keep tracing back.

We have family farm land on the FL/AL line, its called "Bud O's Misery".  There's a small church on the Alabama side that a bunch of the McKinnons and Outlaws are buried. Gum Head is one of the names of the places around where they all lived.

Also, I have a picture of my grandfather, and someone I never met standing beside a gravestone (William F Parker 1867-1926)

Family Lineage that I know:

Alex (circa 1893?- unknown) and Rosalie (Outlaw circa 1895 - unknown) Parker

Holmes County FL

Children: Rachel (1918-unknown), Pansy (1920-2008), Alvin (1922-unknown), Calvin Hulan (1923-2013), William Cawthon (1933-2013), Jeanette (1937)

Pansy and Jeanette (both married, I think one of them to an surname Alton?).  Even though they were married, neither Pansy nor Hulan any children of their own.  Both Alvin and Hulan fought in WW2.  Hulan and William fought in Korea and Vietnam.

Hulan and Francis Scott (maiden name unknown) Parker

Lived in Kent, WA for a long time.

William C. and Maxine (McKinnon) Parker (1934-2012)

Lived in Panama City, FL for over 20 years.

Children: Kay (Pozzuoli) and Gary

Gary and Shelley (Shaw) Parker

Children: MaryKate, Meghan, Wil

  • 1920 Census, Walton County, FL, page 69 or sheet 7A, Alex PARKER and Rosaline PARKER, daughter, Rachel. Next to them are William PARKER and Florence PARKER. Next to them are Alex PARKER and Rosaline PARKER. 1920 Census has father of Alex born in Alabama and mother born in Florida. William born in Alabama and Florence born in Florida. William also born in 1868 so I'm guessing that tombstone that your grandfather is standing over is that William H or F born in 1867 or 1868. Also found a marriage record, Baldwin Alabama, not sure town or county, with William PARKER and Florence DUNCAN.
