Looking for info on Carroll Parker born 1797 in South Carolina he died 1852 Flatwoods, Benton County, Ten. He married Nancy Ross abt 1825 I have her birth date as 1800 and death date as 1880 also in Benton County, Ten. Have some info on their children Elizabeth "Louisa Eliza" Parker born 1826 in Ten. is the line we come from. She married Carroll Rumley  in 1848 and moved to Arkansas.

I don't have Carroll or Nancy Ross Parkers  parents. Does anyone have any thoughts???

  • I believe the Moses Parker in Marlboro Co, SC is a different Moses Parker. He is less documented than the Moses Parker in Marlboro Co. It would be great to get a yDNA of a Moses Parker, Marlboro Co, SC descendant.
  • See Wayne's note below. I think Calvin and Moses Parker have matching yDNA in Parker FG#7, Both were born in SC. They have descendant's with but one different value from myself and three other Parker FG#7 descendants. If you have a male descendant from Carroll Parker, it would be great to get a yDNA sample to see if there is a fit.
  • Tanya,
I have spent the last three years trying to connection all the members of FG#7 back to our common ancestor William Parker born about 1604.
I have a theory (????) that Calvin Parker may connect back to Moses Parker(1744-1830) family of SC. NO PROOF yet.

This is some of the information that I have.

I'm a descendant of Moses PARKER and in a collateral line to the COTTINGHAMs. You are welcome to post the below message to the list if you think it would help. I'll be working with Jeff MOORE, a PARKER/COTTINGHAM descendant, who is also on this list. "Documenting the descendants (and their migrations across the south) of the twenty-two children of Moses PARKER, b 26 Aug 1744, VA, d 12 Nov 1830, Marlboro Co., SC. A grand daughter, Nancy PARKER, b 3 Feb 1796, Marlboro Co., SC, d. 22 Jul 1873, Bibb Co., AL, married Elisha COTTINGHAM Sr. Nancy was the daughter of John PARKER and Sarah BROWN. Several BROWN, COTTINGHAM and PARKER families moved from Marlboro Co., SC, and adjoining Richmond (now Scotland) Co., NC, to Humphreys Co., TN, and then to Bibb Co., AL. This list was recommended to me by a fellow researcher who is also a member."
