I am James Arthur Parker Jr. my dad is James Arthur Parker Sr. his dad was Arthur Parker his dad was Sid Parker and his father was Champion and his father was William. The earliest is can find is Wiliam and the census says his place of birth is North Carolina. I can not locate his father who probably migrated in the the late 1700's. Our family moved to the Cherokee area then Chatanooga and on down to the Macon Georgia area before coming to ALabama. Several of my Parker clan went to north Alabama and are still in that area and that is why I thought that we may be related in some way. It is pretty strange to have James and Arthur names in two different families that are not related but I know that could be the case. I was born in 1952 in East Chicago Indiana. My dad left the coal mines here and went north to find work, met my mother and eventually moved back to Alabama. I have been doing our family history now for a few years and I am just about to the point of trying to contact the family that is in north Alabama and still in Georgia. I will look to see if I can find a connection to our families.
Take care and thanks for the contact.
