NOTE: Part of this theory was proved to be correct he is part of FG#7 but no proof yet that he is the grandson of Peter Parker. Wayne
I propose a theory about the ancestors of Moses Parker (1744-1830) died Marlboro Co., SC as I believe he may be part of FG#7 and need help in proving or disproving this theory. A Male Parker y-DNA test would be great !!!
I have found that Moses son, John Parker born SC was in Humphreys Co., TN at the same time as P252 oldest know ancestor Calvin Parker who was born in SC and then John Parker moved to Bibb Co., AL and was living there at the same time P412 oldest know ancestor Moses Parker born SC is living in Bibb Co., AL
I think Moses Parker (1744-1830) could be the grandson of Peter Parker of Chowan Co., NC who was the son Richard Parker III died 1750 in Chowan Co., NC
According to Mrs. Raymond Parker Fouts book “Following the Land” pages 31-32, Peter Parker son of Richard Parker III had at least three sons, Elisha Parker, Sr., Jonathan Parker and Moses Parker.
I had some information on Elisha Parker family but nothing on Jonathan or Moses Parker. Any information on Jonathan or Moses Parker families needed.
From page 31 of Following the land Moses Parker is a witness when Peter Parker made a deed to his son Jonathan Parker on 17 April 1749. Page 32 Peter Parker sold 150 acres to Richard Parker of Nansemond Co., VA on December 1-1755 and Moses Parker was a witness.
Could this Moses Parker be the father or uncle of the Moses Parker (1744-1830)????
Since Moses Parker (1744-1830) was married twice and had 22 children this could be the key to some of the members of FG#7 SC connections.
Also found this information below today but have not had time to check it out yet.

During a recent search in the South Carolina Archives, I found early land plats for Moses (1787), Elisha,Sr.(1784/1785/1787/1802), Elisha, Jr. (1788)., and Stephen ,Jr.(1787) PARKER in Cheraw District, SC. Most of this land was in close proximity to and on both sides of the PeeDee River which would now be NE Chesterfield Co. and NW Marlboro Co. near Cheraw. Mentioned in the land descriptions are Bear Creek, Beaver Creek, Gum Swamp, and Panther Creek. Would appreciate corresponding with anyone with information on any of these PARKER families.

Notes for JOHN WIGGINS PARKER:
Wayne,
I was browsing through your file. I came across a Hardy D Parker. I am attaching a marriage bond in North Carolina for John Wiggins and Jane Morgan. Look who else signed this marriage bond. None other than Hardy D. Parker. Now I just need to figure out how they are related. Not sure how I am going to go about that. But here is a connection to his family.

I just want to throw this info into the mix: both my dad and I both have an autosomal AncestryDNA match to a person who is descended from Nancy Parker who married Elisha Cottingham... this Nancy is the daughter of John Parker, son of this Moses Parker of Marlboro District. To date, I've found no other ancestors between us that could explain the match. It sure makes me wonder...
This indeed is great news!!!!!
Over the years I have had "gut feeling" when I am researching and this was one of them. When I saw so many clues in my research of your Moses Parker and also P257 Parker family and the clues seem to be pointing back to Moses Parker of Marlboro District, SC.
Which of the two children of Elisha and Nancy Parker Cottingham, do you and your Dad match?
Looking forward to seeing more research on this family.
Wayne
Match 1:
John Parker (son of Moses Parker & Nancy Sands) b. 1775 Marlboro, SC; d. 1856 in Bibb, AL; m. 1795 to Sara Sally Brown in Marlboro District, SC.
Matches 2, 3, and 4: All descended from Nancy Parker, daughter of the above John... with distinct matches through three of her children:
John Pinkney Cottingham b. 10 Jun 1824 in Bibb, AL; d. 28 Jun 1888 in Bibb, AL; m. Mary Amanda Cochran 18 Sep 1845 in Bibb, AL.
Moses Lambert Cottingham b. 07 Jun 1828 in Bibb, Alabama; d. 29 Aug 1911 in Bibb, AL. m. Nancy Catherine Woods 6 Dec 1849 in Bibb, AL.

Match 5:
Isaac Parker b. 1765 in SC; d. 1841 in Leake, MS; m. Nancy Jones 1785 in SC;
Here are some other matches we've got in SC. Not sure if they fit anywhere:
Anna Parker b. 1790 in SC; d. 04 May 1844 in Newberry, SC; m. William R. Davenport 1817 in Newberry, SC.
Theresa Martha Parker b. 29 Oct 1811 in Edgefield, SC; d. 1880 in Carroll, GA; m. John Bryant.
Richard Hall Parker b. 09 May 1801 in Colleton (Liberty), SC; d. 04 Sep 1863 in Alachua, FL; m. Hannah Flowers.
I also have Isaac Parker and Nancy Jones in my file. “On January 21,2015 I added Isaac as a possible son of Robert Parker (FG#7) and brother of Benjamin Parker (P11 of FG#7) brother of Jesse Parker P120 and P196)”

Yes it is still a theory only "not a fact yet either way"(they may or may not
be brothers but are kin somehow). I know we all want 100% proof but sometimes it pays for me to go out on a limb even if the limb breaks off with me on it because then I find out if I am right or wrong. If I am right only 1 out of 100 time. I will have connected 1 more family and that is better that not trying at all but even if I got 0 out of 100 then that OK with me because then I can eliminate the wrong 100 connections and work at finding the connection another way.
Here is part of an e-mail that I received from Dr. Dennis West in response to a question that I had asked him about yDNA mutation rates and how fast they can change.
"Mutations are rare and unpredictable events. We can estimate the mutation rates pretty good when we consider thousands of DNA samples, however when we narrow the consideration down to a comparison of only two men, the variation in mutation rates is large. We see men who match exactly and their common ancestor lived 7 or 8 generations back. We also have an uncle – nephew pair who differ by 3 mutations. So it is problematic in trying to determine exactly how many generations there are back to a common ancestor based on the number of mutation differences between those two men."
I am in the process of going over my all my work adding more proof from the census and other records right now any yes I have found some mistake but I enjoy that also because I want to get it right.
I expect I will be going out on the limb many more times with my theories till I or other Parker researchers either prove or disprove the theories.
Peter Beadle has sent me some charts that he made from my file showing how the DNA is matching up and I am looking forward to see what else he does.
Since I love a challenge and I know by going challenging the "known facts" is the best way to stir up the pot and get other researchers motivated to either prove or disprove my theories.
I look back to just three years ago and I am surprised at how much more I know today about our Parker family BUT I am not surprised at how little I know compared to how much more information that is still unknown and just waiting to be discovered.
I remember many year ago I send my cousin Homie Parker Holly some new Parker information that I had found and she told me that she thought we were done with our Parker research because we had carried our direct Parker line back to the 1200's in England well I wound up deleting thousands of hours my research in England because I found out that our Richard Parker I was not the same person as DR. Richard Parker.
Also if I would have quit searching for the truth way back then, I would have never been ask to have my yDNA tested and I would have meet all my new DNA Parker cousins or cousins-in-law researchers. It seems like our FG#7 family is getting bigger every day as more and more Parker researchers either join PH or have contacted me after reading my on-file or from Find A Grave. That gives me hope in at least two way(1) more researchers means we have more eyes looking.(2) as some are much younger that I am, they will continue the research after I am gone.
