I know there are more Parker's from this group out there! We have 3 of which are 'adopted' names other than Parker. We have family in Northern California that ties into my line with Thomas Parker and Mary Potter of KY-IN. Mary Potter is dau of Nathaniel Potter and Charlotte Lloyd who were married 29 Nov 1787, Washington County, VA. Thomas Parker and Mary Potter were married 17 Mar 1810 in Garrard County, Kentucky. Thomas Parker is son of Ichabod Parker and Susannah Cook, (Susannah Cook is dau of Asaph Cook and Sarah Parker) Ichabod is son of Didymus Parker and Phebe Johnson. Didymus is a twin of Eliphalet Parker who married Damaris Parker. Eliphalet Parker was married to Hannah Beach. Eliphalet is son of John Parker Jr. and Hannah Bassett. John Parker born 08 Oct 1648 died 08 Feb 1714 and Hannah Bassett born 13 Sep 1650 and died 07 Jun 1726. John Parker Jr. as some have it is the son of John Edward / Edward John Parker and Elizabeth Wood Potter Parker later to be Rose.
The Parker's lived in Saybrook, New Haven, Wallingford Ct, my line moved to Hassock, later to be renamed Adams, Mass. then to Granville, NY (of which Ichabod served in the NY Assembly on 2 terms.. They fought in the wars from the beginning of the 1600's, many served in the French/Indian War, Rev War. Enos and Ichabod were officers in the Rev War. Didymus was a SGT and officer. Minutemen, After the Rev War, Ichabod moved to Sugar Crk, Ky, married Mary Noble of which I can not find any more info on her. Ichabod Parker, son Thomas Parker and Mary Potter Parker moved to Sandcreek, Greensburg, In where the Potters started a Church which still stands and in operation. After Mary Potter Parker died, Thomas Parker and grown family moved to the Shellsburg, Iowa area and branched out there. One of their kids moved to Northern California in mid-late 1800's, had a pack train from Yreka to Eureka California area. My line came to Oregon on or about 1900 whit their live stock when the first train was open from California to Oregon.
We have so much HISTORY, just need to make a contact in England, Ireland, Scotland. We have FamilyTree DNA Parker Group 29. Please help this old man!
Thank you,
Darrell Parker, Veneta, Oregon

  • Hi my name is Judy Tenner. My mother's maiden name was Parker, her father being Theodore "Ted" Parker. Eliphalet Parker is my 7th generation Grandfather, counting Ted as my 1st. This is how it goes #1 Ted Parker, #2 Isaac "Zeke" Parker, #3 Andrew Marrion Parker, #4 Ezekiel Parker, #5 Asa Parker, #6 Bethuel Parker, and #7 Eliphalet Parker.
I have more info and can go back farther with dates and names off spouses and children. I live in Wisconsin. I hope this helps you some. I would like to find more personal info about each one, a little about how they lived etc.
  • I have run across Saybrook Parkers in my research, although I realized early on that they weren't my line and didn't focus on them. It's interesting that their migration path parallels my line MA->CT->MA->NY->KY->IN->IL->WA.
  • Nice post Darrell. Good luck with FG#29 ! Mike
