Growing up I was told that we were related to Bonnie Parker, so I'm trying to figure out how exactly, my great grandmother's maiden name was Ida Parker from East Texas, was also told we were related to Cynthia Parker never heard much about her though so if anyone has any information how Ida was related to either one I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Kim

  • Hi Kim! James Franklin "Jeptha" Parker was my 4th Great Grandfather. We are distant cousins as well!
  • Thank you so much for the information, I can't wait to share this with my dad :)
  • Hi Kim,
I just realized that I didn't answer your question about how Ida Parker was kin to Bonnie Parker. They were first cousins.

  • Hi Kim,
    Welcome to PH.
I will be glad to help you. I will need as much information about Ida Parker that you can provide. Who was her father and mother their birth days and death dates? Who did Ida marry and where did the live? Any other information that will help in finding Ida grandfather Parker family.

Bonnie Parker is part of our Parker y-DNA family Group #7.

If you find out that you are part of our Parker family, you will see that we have many more family members that have help build this country as our Parker family was in in Jamestown VA from the early 1600.

  • Kim, Welcome to Parker Heritage(PH). We are a diverse group of researchers from all known Parker lines.
You mentioned two of the more famous Parkers -Bonnie and Cynthia. They are NOT from the same family. Cynthia is in my Parker Family Group Five (PG5). I'll look around for your Ida. IF you provide date of birth, death, residence, other family members ..etc that would help narrow the search.
Although I haven't researched Bonnie, I'm told she is different. Here @PH Wayne N. Parker is a PG7 researcher I recommend anyone who thinks they're related to famous Parkers. If you send him a note, he usually responds quickly.
    Happy Hunting, JamesDavid
