Descendants of Jesse D. Parker

Generation No. 1

1.  JESSE D.2 PARKER  (?1) was born Bet. 1782 - 1784 in Prob. Cumberland Co., NC, and died Aft. 1860 in Wood Co., TX.  He married CASHIA 1810 in Prob. Cumberland Co., NC.  She was born 1793 in NC, and died December 02, 1856 in Cherokee Co., TX.

Notes for JESSE D. PARKER:
NOTE:  I have connect Jesse D. Parker (PAGE 309 census) to the following people in Tuscaloosa Co., AL in 1830. Medey White (bought land with Jesse D. Parker in Al. ) (PAGE 309 census), Henry and Thomas Fox (both on PAGE 309), and Holland Wright Middleton (PAGE 297 census). Thomas Fox. also bought land with Medey White.  Jesse D. Parker, Medey White, Thomas Fox and (two) Henry Fox are all listed on page 309 of the 1830 census for Tuscaloosa Co., AL  Thomas Fox and his father Henry Halley Fox move to Calhoun (Webster) Co., MS.  Laban Pugh son-in-law of Jesse D. Parker is on page 315 of 1830 census of Tuscaloosa Co., AL.
Jesse D. Parker also moves to Choctaw (Webster) Co., MS. Zachariah Middleton (PAGE 310 census) the father of Holland Wright Middleton also moved to Panola Co., MS.  Jesse D. Parker son Josiah married Nancy Middleton who the first cousin of Holland Wright Middleton. Jesse D. Parker son John Parker married Elizabeth "Betsy" F. Middleton who was a first cousin to both Nancy Middleton and Holland Wright Middleton. Benjamin Middleton and Mary "Polly" Satterwhite were the parents of Nancy Middleton who married Josiah Parker and they named a son Meady White Middleton. Mary "Polly" Satterwhite niece Louisa Satterwhite married William F. Parker the son of Jesse D. Parker. Also Jesse Parker and a Thomas Satterwhite bought land together in Calhoun Co., MS. A Medey/Medley White also bought land in Webster Co., MS.  Rev. Medey White was living in Calhoun Co., MS in 1860.
Edward Satterwhite (David Satterwhite5, John Michael Satterwhite4, Thomas Satterwhite3, Michael Satterwhite2, Thomas Satterwhite1) was born ABT 1800, and died 14 AUG 1854 in Harris Co., GA. He married Susan Bartee 16 AUG 1821 in Jones Co., GA. She was born ABT 1800.
Children of Edward Satterwhite and Susan Bartee are:
John Marshall Satterwhite , Sr. was born 1830 in Harris Co., GA. He married Sarah Elizabeth "Eliza" Parker 12 DEC 1849 in Harris Co., GA, daughter of Isaiah Parker , Rev. and Mahala Cummings. She was born 1831, and died JAN 1861 in Harris Co., GA.  The Rev. Isaiah Parker is a known member of FG#7 (PA401 and P402).  Another member of this same Parker family, Daniel Parker married Lucy While, don't know at this time if there is any connections to Medey White family.
Holland Wright Middleton Wife is named Serenee. I also found a Kerenhapuch "Happy" White listed on an on-line tree. Her father was listed as Media Medey White. I have not research this line yet. I have not research this White line yet.

I found Jesse Parker on page 309 of Tuscaloosca Co., Al census by a process of elimination of all the Parker listed in the 1830 census in AL. I knew that he had to be in Tuscaloosa Co.,AL  because one of his daughter was married there but could not find him so I looked at all the Parker names in AL and the Parker listed on page 309 was the only one that I could find that matched up with what I knew about Jesse Parker family. Jesse name is hard to make out.

After reading Cashia Parker will and looking at the census I have made some changes to my file. I had an unknown male listed as first child and son. I made Josiah Parker that son. Four reasons.
(a) the census does not surport him being born in the year that I had him listed.
(b) it would be logical then, if Josiah was the oldest that he would adm. her will.

(c) Josiah Parker is listed as buying land in Choctaw Co., MS the same day as Jesse Parker bought his land and the land is right next to each other see below.
(d) I had a Josiah Parker listed in my file that married a Nancy Middleton on February 28, 1836. This information was from my Middleton research file (did not know who Josiah parents was)  also Josiah brother John Parker married Elizabeth "Betsy" F. Middleton who was Nancy first cousin. Information from both Parker and Middleton file.

I also had another son listed (Isaiah Parker) but he was not listed in Cashia Parker will nor could I find a male listed on the Census records that matched him. I removed  Isaiah Parker from my file as a son of Jesse and Cashia Parker. He may have died young.(???)

Surnames: PARKER, TAYLOR
I believe that my eldest known PARKER ancestor was Jesse D., b. ca. 1784 in NC (per 1850 US Census, Cherokee Co. TX; others say 1792 but I have no evidence here), mar. ca. 1810 in NC to Coshea/Cashia, reportedly had 3 children in NC (John, Willis, William F.), reportedly migrated to AL ca. 1825 through ca. 1830 with three children born in AL (reported ch: Susan (mar. -?- EMBRY), Wiley (living Choctaw Co. MS in 1859; at least 1 son - William), Mary "Polly" (mar. Able HARDEN)), then to MS ca. 1830 through ca. 1849 (mostly/always in Choctaw Co.) with five more children born in MS (reported ch: Elizabeth Jane (mar. -?- THOMPSON), Jesse E., Patricia "Patsy" (mar. -?- McCLAIN), Josiah, Isaiah).

This son, Jesse E. b. 1835 Jul 26 Choctaw Co. MS, then moved to with parents Jesse and Coshea (and likely some other family members) to Cherokee Co. TX near Jacksonville before 1850 US Census. Jesse E. (1835-1862) married Mary Jane TAYLOR (1843-1926) 1861 Jul 18 in Cherokee Co. TX. Jesse E. reportedly died in the Civil War 9 days before the birth of their only son, Jesse Matthew, b. 1862 Aug 20. Mary Jane TAYLOR PARKER (1843-1926) and the only son, Jesse Matthew (1862-1935), moved to Ellis Co. TX probably in 1863 and probably to be near TAYLOR and LOYD relatives. Mary Jane TAYLOR PARKER (1843-1926) re-married three more times in Ellis Co. TX to James R. HENDERSON (in 1866; 2 ch. died young), Joseph W. MANNING (in 1881), and Joseph GILES, but had no more children reach adulthood. Since 1863, my PARKERs stayed mostly in Ellis Co., with short stays in Hill, Dallas, and Smith Cos. TX. Jesse Matthew (1862-1935) was mar. 1889 Dec 22 in Hill Co. TX to Roxie Anna Maria WHITE and had two sons, Herman Collier (my grandfather) and Estill PARKER.

I have precious little good evidence of the above. Some data is purely speculative, although all of the various Jesse D. (1784-1870) family names are contained in the will of Coshea PARKER dated/probated ca. 1859 in Cherokee Co. TX.

The eldest Jesse PARKER (1784-ca.1870) reportedly moved to Wood Co. TX, perhaps living with a son's family, where he died ca. 1870, but I have yet to support this claim with good evidence.

If you spot any possible connections, please let me know. Thanks, and good hunting!

NOTE:This posting as been edited my me (WNP) to reflect new information that I found since I firsted posted this message.

Some new thoughts on Jesse D. and Coshia Parker family and your Jesse Parker of FG#7 P120 and P296.
Jesse D. Parker has a son named Josiah and a son named John.
John Parker son of Jesse D. married Elizabeth "Betsy" F.Middleton, daughter of Parks Middleton who is the son of Capt.Holland Middleton.

Capt. Holland Middleton also has a son named Benjamin Middleton (brother of Parks). Benjamin daughter Nancy Middleton born 1817 married on February 28, 1836 in (MS or AL) Josiah Parker.
Benjamin and Parks Middleton are living in old Choctaw Co., MS by 1840

In 1841 Jesse D.Parker and  Josiah Parker buy land right next to each other in old Choctaw Co.MS now Webster Co., MS.
Jesse D.Parker born Bet. 1782 - 1784 in NC, his son  Josiah Parker  married Nancy Middleton.

In the 1850 census Cherokee Co., TX Page 908 Jesse D. Parker is living near Matthew Arnold Parker on Page 907. Matthew is the son of your Jesse Parker.Matthew daughter Mary "Molly" Samantha Parker married John A. Middleton.

So now we have theses thing common to both families
(1) the name Wiley/Willey
(2)the name Jesse Parker.
(3)Jesse D. moved from Choctaw Co., MS to Cherokee Co., TX and live real close to Matthew Arnold Parker.
(4)Jesse D. son Jesse E. named his son Jesse Matthew Parker.
(5) Matthew Arnold Parker moved to DeWitt County,Texas where two of Elijah Parker(my 3th g-grandfather) grandsons lived(Allen and Elijah Parker were their names)
(6) Middleton and Parker family has some connections.
That information has to tiped the scales it least to a 60/40 or 70/30 or more that is a good change that your Jesse and Jesse D. are connected to each other.
Did any of your Jesse Parker family have any Josiah Parker in it?

I have not had any luck getting any Parker member of William Wiley Parker (son of Jesse D.Parker as W.W.Parker stated in old Choctaw Co., MS) family to do DNA testing but I have a "gut" felling that they belong to FG#7.

On page 919 of the 1850 Cherokee Co., TX census is John Harris. John Harris also moved from Choctaw Co., MS. John Harris is the son of Tyre Harris.Tyre sister Mary Harris married Elijah Parker (they are my 3th great-grandparents)

Richard (my line P239 of FG#7) and his brother Samuel Parker are living in old Choctaw Co.MS in the 1830's their brother James H. Parker is living in Chickasaw Co.,MS located next to Choctaw Co. MS.
Another Samuel Parker P353 of FG#7 is also living in Choctaw Co. MS
at this time

John and Elizabeth Savidge Foster-James, Hardy, Robert S., and John L.S.-settled here beginning in 1818, with their mother and sisters Martha and Elizabeth following. Their families formed the nucleus of a model community in the new state, nurtured and influenced primarily by this church. John Collier Foster was pastor from 1845 to his 1892 death. TX w/ husband Jesse listed as living. Will lists all living children and several locations and spouses. Always interested in trading data. I am gradually unpacking from recent move and have some data on PC database. Regards, Al Weeks

Eldest known PARKER ancestor was Jesse (ca. 1784 NC - aft. 1859 prob. TX), apparently migrated to MS where he had at least one son, Jesse E. (1835 Choctaw Co. MS - 1862 Cherokee Co. TX Civil War Vet.), then moved to Cherokee Co. TX near Jacksonville probably before 1861. Jesse (ca. 1784 - aft. 1859) mar. Coshia (Coshea-?) (1793 NC - abt. 1859 prob. Cherokee Co. TX). Siblings of Jesse include: Mary (Polly), John, Josiah, Patience, Susan, Elizabeth J., William, Willis, and Wiley, according to Coshia's will in 1859. Jesse E. (1835-1862) mar. 1861 Mary Jane TAYLOR pobably in Cherokee Co. TX. Jesse E. reportedly died in the Civil War 9 days before the birth of their only son, Jesse Matthew (1862 Aug 20 - 1935). Mary Jane remarried three more times in Ellis Co. TX to Henderson, Manning, and Giles, but had no more children reach adulthood.

Have a little more data. Will trade. Does this make us cousins?

 1840 census Choctaw Co., MS 1 male 20-30, 2 females under 5, 1 female 20-30

I have no other information on when or where he was born or died.
Benjamin and Parks Middleton are living in old Choctaw Co., MS by 1840

In 1841 Jesse D. Parker and a Josiah Parker buy land right next to each other in old Choctaw Co., MS now Webster Co., MS.
Jesse D. Parker born Bet. 1782 - 1784 in NC, his son Josiah Parker who married Nancy Middleton.

That information has to tilt the scaled it least to a 60/40 or 70/30 or more that is a good change that your Jesse and Jesse D. are connected to each other.

Richard (my line P239 of FG#7) and his brother Samuel Parker are living in old Choctaw Co.MS in the 1830's their brother James H.Parker is living in Chickasaw Co.,MS located next to Choctaw Co. MS.
Another Samuel Parker P353 of FG#7 is also living in Choctaw Co.at this time.

How did I come up with Satterwhite? By tracing all of Paul & Katherine Powell Satterwhite's 12 children. A distant cousin wrote a short bio on Paul & his children. All she said about Louisa was "She married a Mr. Parker". My line is through Dempsey Powell Satterwhite - your Louisa's brother. I would be happy to share my research with you. Do you have info on her husband, William F. Parker & his family? I know his father was Jesse Parker - do you have Jesse's parents? Do you have any photos of Louisa? Would love to know more about her.

Emma,

The William Wiley Parker, Jr. in Carroll County is the son of William Wiley Parker, earlier of Choctaw County.

From what I have accumulated I have:

William Wiley Parker m. Elizabeth Ransom
10-30-1826 / 1-9-1903 @1824 / 5-22-1888

1. Joseph T. Parker m. Maggie Lee/Lou Long
3-1850 & Mary Nunley

2. Dudley Franklin Parker m. Emma Blaylock
7-14-1852 / 2-16-1922 Rose Doley

3. Mary J. Parker m. W. C. (Bill ) Long
2-6-1852 / 6-19-1921 3-20-1845/6-29-1917

4. Missouri A. Parker m. Warren Long
4-22-1854

5. Larrah A. Parker m. W. C.(Bill)Campbell
1860 - 1936

6. Robert Coleman(Monk) m.Tular Agnes Beatty
/ 11-22-1938

7. William Wiley (Bose) m. Anna Collins
1-12-1864/10-26-1925 3-14-1871/12-3-1959

W. W. Parker lived near Old Greensboro 1860 -1865. Made Shoes for soldiers and gave them the shoes. When the northern soldiers returned thru Greensboro, they asked for him but were given wrong directions. He sat in the "dog-trot" with gun and saddlebags across his knees. Elizabeth begged him to go to woods but he wouldn't. He said the soldiers were going the other way. They burned Greensboro, then went on. Later he moved near New Hope Methodist Church. When Elizabeth died she was buried at Mission. He must have gone to live with some of the children, died in Carroll County, was buried at Longview.
Uncle John Parker (Odell & Nobia's brother) said his granddaddy's tanyard is on the Mission Church Road on "Old Bob Collins" place. He said the old house was still standing but it is off the road. He said the tanyard used to stand ankle deep in mud, cows, etc. would bog down and have to be pulled out, but it is dry all over it now. the land where the houseplace is on Cat Caffey or Weyerhaueser behind Aubry Whitfield's house.
Another interesting sidenote: Grandma Annie Bell Bailey and Aunt Blanche said that the last seven years of her life, Elizabeth did not speak to W. W. Sam Long told me that he had always heard that Elizabeth had caught him in bed with one of her sisters. He went to her deathbed and asked her if she had anything to say to him and she turned her head away.

I have the descendants from here down. I am lucky to have known personnally back to my greatgrandmother Anna Collins. Aunt Blanche Parker (daughter of W. W., Jr. and Anna Collins) is still living and in nursing home here in Winona. Aunt Annie McNeer (daughter of Robert Coleman and Tular Beatty) died just two years ago. I have a portrait of William Wiley Parker, Sr. and one of Tular Agnes Beatty in my house.(the old big ones). Elizabeth is buried at Mission along side a granddaughter Florence Long)

This should be enough for you to digest this morning. Contact soon.

Paulette
