Joseph Washington See was the son of John Joseph See and Evalina Eglantine Lorance. John Joseph was the son of Michael M See (Seay) (1777 SC - 1843 MS) and his second wife, Clarissa Clark, the daughter of Gregory Clark and Lurany Parker, d/o Ivy Rachel Sessums and Rev. John Henry Parker. Joseph was born in Itawamba County, Mississippi 1839 and died in Carroll County, Arkansas 1878. He returned from the Civil War in ill health and never quite recovered.Of note, Michael M See's first wife was Catherine Parker (daughter of Thomas) 1778-1801 SC. Her relationship to Lurany Parker Clark is unknown at this time. Alternate spelling for Joseph See is Seay. Michael See and Clarissa Clark's oldest daughter, Clarissa See Patton married as her second husband, Micajah Parker, son of Thomas Parker and Christina Combs.
