My grandmother was Mary Ruth Parker Oglesby from Kentucky. Her father was James Franklin Parker, born in Macon, TN, and his father was William Franklin Parker, also from TN. Would love to flesh out this part of my family tree.

Hello Michelle Oglesby Haywood, and welcome to Parker Heritage.
I look forward to exchanging with you and others here on PH on your family line. Even the brief family history from your profile parallels my Parker family line in Smith and Macon County Tennessee back pre-War of 1812.
Although I cannot guess at the specific Parker bloodline of Goldsberry Parker, he is solidly in my data base as the father of William Franklin Parker. William Parker's wife was Nancy Margaret Williams 1841-1913, and they both died and were buried in Webster Co. Kentucky.
I have Goldsberry Bowan Parker in Smith Co. TN, then in adjacent Macon Co. TN after it was formed, with wife Charlotte Simmons and their children. GB died before the 1870 census. My records suggest that GB was a brother of Hickman Parker, and they were both sons of Abraham Parker, all of whom were recorded in Smith/Macon early on. I am interested in these Parkers because repeated censuses show them living in that area near two of our HOH Parkers. Their descendants are today YDNA-matched into Parker Surname YDNA Project Family Group #7. Those two Parkers were Dempsey Parker and his relative James Parker who was a cousin, a brother, unclear.
In addition to the Parker surname, my list is very long of neighbors and in-laws such as Hammon, Meadows, Hargis, Marsh, and many other. Please post your complete family history on the Blog Section above for others to review and respond. There is a lot to share.
