I am trying to track down the parents of one of the (seemingly) millions of William Parkers. According to the 1850 Jefferson County, GA Federal Census, this William Parker was born in Edgecombe County North Carolina. William was a minister in Jefferson County and shows up there in the 1820 Federal Census, but I can't locate him before that.

I can tell you that Asa Parker b. 1775 NC, m. Phoebe Woods lived in Jefferson Co., GA and moved to Monroe Co., AL by about 1830. This is on the county line so some of the family may be on Conecuh Co., AL Census.
By 1850, Asa and all of the family, except Asa, Jr. moved to Lauderdale Co., MS.
When Asa, Sr. died abt 1851, Othniel moved his family back to Monroe Co., where his brother owned lots of land.
Many Parkers moved to MS and on to TX later.
Welcome, Matthew! We will have to talk - my Asa Parker b. 1775 NC and Phoebe Wood (or Woods) and relatives were in Jefferson Co., GA about 1820. Asa was a son of John Parker b. abt 1744 who died in 1788 in Duplin Co., NC leaving wife, Elizabeth, and several children. When was Rev. William Parker born?
