Oh wow thanks. I didn't realize my comments about my interest would go "public" already. haha I did find that link last week and this one and part of why I believe this is our line. My grandmother is Hettie A Parker (b. 1917 d. 2003 ), her father is George Washington Parker (b. 4/10/1878 in Parker County, Tx. & d. 3/12/1950 in Cheyenne, OK) and her mother is Eva Mae Burnham. His father is William Francis Parker b. about 1834 in Illinois. There are several stories about him, his children, etc. Best I have pieced together is he had a wife and daughter Mary Belle. I think his first wife was Rachel Esslinger but could be wrong. There are varying stories but he ended up, after her death, with Mary Ann Flowers Hester (Parker Liles), and had many more children. These include William, Marion Francis, George Washington, Minnie Ann, Ora Lee. Mary Ann also had Adeline and Paralee who may have been Williams or Joseph Hesters and left her sons James and Joseph with their father. They left Illinois, where William was born, to Parker County Texas where the rest of the kids were born. Then he left the family around 1884. Mary Ann took the family to Oklahoma. My facts end with the marriage and children of William Francis. What I hope to find is confirmation that William Francis is the one born in Crawford County, Illinois to George F and Mary Henry Parker. If true, then yes we are cousins!! I find all of this very fascinating and a fun mystery to try to solve. It seems my Grandmother may not have known more than this.
It's OK Mark, life is busy.. if you ever find anything out please let me know, I'd appreciate.
Hi Mark, Sorry for leaving so abruptly yesterday. I am searching for a Calvin Parker/1807 born in Maine and his wife Sarah Sparks/1807 born in NY. The reason I am asking you is because in my family the name Wesley come up quite often. do you know of these people at all.
Their son William was born in York, Clark county, Il. in 1830. He married Sarah Elizabeth Condit and gave birth to my g grand father Harrison Ward Parker. His son was Wesley Lee Parker a twin.
Connecting Elder John and our James in some fashion has been a family passion CuznStacyHintz passed on from A.Vera who when I spoke to today stated,"I knew when Gramma Maggie said things you knew she knew and could recite names and places. But until today, we only knew what Grampa told us. Still haven't had time to pin down James' father from the basket of data. It's gonna be a long nite mother...
So cuznMark, within the realm of reason, please tell me anything you know of our grandfather James-b.1752? Where exactly and to whom? And if I can get a large enough number, would a Homecoming Reunion of sorts be possible to work the cemeteries near Westfield? CuznStacie thinks Memorial weekend would get best turnout without the annual Homecoming crowd...or is that still on? My understanding is that an adjacent landowner had plowed over the road into the Parker cemetery. It's been worked before, but not lately. I was hoping a gain a little more heritage information and then take off from Westfield back the way we came as far as I know where to go by the time I start to kick the bucket. Road-trip anyone?
