Florence McCarty Burnett (My father's mother, my grandmother) Born in Delta, Texas, USA on 1895 to Bennett R Mccarty and Mahala Fannie Preas. Florence married Tom Burnett. (Thomas Burnett is my father's father and my grandfather, thus it makes Mahala Fannie Preas my great grandmother and Mahala Parker my great great grandmother. Mahala Fannie Preas (1855 - 1901) Born in Bedford, Virginia, USA on 12 Dec 1855 to Joseph Preas and Mahala L Parker. Mahala Fannie married Bennett R Mccarty and had 12 children. She passed away on 29 Nov 1901 in Delta, Texas, USA Mahala L Parker Born. Mahala L married Joseph Preas and had a child Mahala Fannie Preas. Bennett R Mccarty (1851 - 1917) Born in Bedford, Virginia, USA on 15 Dec 1851. Bennett R married Mahala Fannie Preas and had 12 children. He passed away on 28 Jan 1917 in Delta, Texas, USA. (Most of these were girls and that is where all the various last names in Delta County, Texas come into play. One sister married an Anglin, one married and her name became Box, that was Great Aunt Janelle and she only passed away a few years ago at a very old age. Unfortunately, her memory was not all that good. There was Faye Chandler and she is now deceased. There are still a few Preas around the area. One being J. R. Preas and his son. I don't know them well. J. R.'s mother is Anna Crowe and she retired a few years ago from the judges office in the Delta County Court House. There are many relatives still in Cooper, Texas. I was born in Texas to L. M. Burnett (Loyd Milton) and Melvina Cooper Burnett. We were five children born to L. M. At present four are still alive. The eldest daughter, Charlotte Ann Burnett Page died along with her husband Joe Page, Jr. in a house fire in Tyler, Texas. Thomas and Florence had Elmer, Ruby, Ed, Emmett, and my father. They are all deceased now. My father being the last to pass away in 2008 from cancer and other related illness. Ruby was married twice and had two children from one marriage and two children from a second marriage. Emmett never married and never had any children. Ed passed away in the late 70s of lung cancer and is survived by a daughter Brenda. One of my sisters keeps in touch with her. Brenda is in her late 60s or early 70s. I am not sure about her children. Elmer had several kids, including a set of twins. I have two boys. Charlotte is survived by two boys. My second to eldest sister has a daughter and the other sister has two children, a boy and girl. My brother, Thomas, is married and adopted her two children but they never had any together. I have a published children's book, Paddy the Pelican Survives the Storm and I have a MS in Sociology from Texas A&M University. I currently live in England with my husband, Jason. I look forward to your reply and I would appreciate any information you have on the Parker line.
