I'm curious if anyone has any descendants information on the Parker who is at Jamestown. I requested a copy of the only application on file for the Jamestown Society using the Parker lineage and it was not helpful at all. Any ideas? I'm trying to see if my Parker family connects to that Parker. Thank you in advance!

Your uncle matched into Parker DNA Family Group #3. You can contact the other members of FG#3 and compare information and see if you all can find your common ancestor.

Do you know what y-DNA group your Parker family belong to? If not do you have a male Parker cousin that would have his y-DNA tested? William Parker is part of Parker y-DNA FG#7. There is a ton of information about his family here on Parker Heritage.

Congratulation on getting your uncle to take a y-DNA test. The results are usually back within 4 or 5 weeks.
Have your uncle sign on on his kit number and join the Parker group. You can then use his kit number and track the results.
You asked about the Parker of Jamestown and Boston Tea Party, I will make a couple of comments and suggestion.(1 ) Although I am eligible to join many groups, such as SAR I made a choice many years that I loved researching much more than joining the differed “groups”. (2) I would recommend that you trace your Parker family back each generation with good documenting for each generation. DNA is just one of the tools that you can use but most of all a good paper trail is a must.(3) Have fun and enjoy each time you find something about your ancestors.

Yes genealogy bring together many different people with different skills to expand our knowledge of our family history. My first cousin joined the DAR and was president of her chapter for a good while. We have many different family American Revolution lines.

I just check the 23andme website and they don't have a y-DNA test. Y-DNA testing is only available to male Parker. Parker DNA Family Groups are formed when 2 or more testers match. You will need to have a Parker male to have his y-DNA tested by FamilyTreedna.com
You need to post as much information that you can about your Parker family here on PH such as dates, places, names of their wives, census records, wills and land records.
