Good Evening Group! My name's Shannon Potts and I was on here several years ago as I got started with forming my family tree upon receiving the Ancestry.com Family Tree Maker program. Life has been rough the last several years for me. I have put down the project for a while but decided to pick it back up now that things are a little more settled. My Parker line starts with my Maternal Great Grandmother, Ruby Nola Parker. She is the daughter of James Monroe Adolphus "Doc" Parker and Roxie Ellen Thompson. James Monroe Adolphus "Doc" Parker is the son of Matthew C. Parker and Sarah Ann Oglesby if I have it correct. Matthew C. Parker is the son of Zachariah Parker and Christeanah Parker (Benthall). Growing up I was told stories like a lot of people that we were possibly related to Cynthia Ann Parker and Quanah Parker. My grandmother, Joyce White (Cannon) told that story and I have been told by my mother that she has the dots connected but every time I ask, I get the opposite answer. Several years ago, I met a cousin on here in Texas who said her great grandmother Verna Loo Parker, a sister of my great grandmother told the same story in Texas. Truthfully, I would just love to find out more information on my Parker line and see where it actually leads. I also know there is a Cherokee Parker line. I would love to speak with anyone who has insight to this Parker line and where it leads, any possible Native American ties if any, etc.

  • Shannon, I researched your family this morning and could find no link to Parker Family #5. You might send a message to James David Parker, of Missouri, who is a proven Family 5 relative. He is a moderator for Parker Heritage. Mike
