Needham Jones (Husband of Araminta Parker) was my great great Uncle. He wasw the son of Margaret Bunting and William M. Jones. The 1880 census shows them living in the household of his father-in-law Samuel Parker. He has several daughters and a year old son. He was listed as a preacher. My grandfather told me he was a Primitive Baptist minister. I believe the 1880 cesus shows Samuel Parker to have been born in North Carolina. I have not been able to find any trace of the children of Araminta and Needham Jones. Do you have any records on their children?

Thanks for replying!!

wife of Jessie Darden Parker & daughter of Isaac Reeves & Annie Clark
  • The Toogaloe or Tugaloo River borders Georgia and South Carolina and is also very close to Nails Creek which is where Jesse Parker Ydna group 7 was born.
  • I think this is the father of Jesse Parker, YDNA group 7. Robert Parker of Franklin County, Georgia. Here is the deed. Georgia State. These Indentures made this twenty ninth day of August one thousand seven hundred ninety nine. Between Robert Parker of the County of Franklin of the one part and Tryon Patterson of the County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Robert Parker for an inconsideration of the sum of forty two pounds current money to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged hath sold and Delivered and by these presents doth sell and deliver unto the said Tryon Patterson his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land containing two hundred acres Be the same more or less situated in the County of Franklin lying on Thrasher Creek a South Branch of Toogaloe River and bounded as followseth North by old lines Northeast by corners land and southeast by unknown land and on the other side Vacant To have and to hold the said tract of land and promises to him the said Tryon Patterson and his heirs. Forever and the said Robert Parker doth for himself his heirs executors administrators and assigns covenent and aggree with the said Tryon Patterson to warrant and defend the said land and promises to and for the said Tryon Patterson his heirs or assigns forever. Free from all claims rights titles or Demands of the said Robert Parker doth for himself his heirs executors administrators and assigns covenent and aggree with the said Tryon Patterson to warrant and defend the said land and promisses to and for the said Tryon Patterson his or assigns forever. Free from all claims, rights, titles or Demands, of the said Robert Parker his heirs or assigns or any other claiment whatsover In Witness whereof the said Robert Parker doth hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written

    Thomas Moore Robert Parker
    Thomas Cocks

This day come Thomas Moore before me and being sworn sayeth that he saw Robert Parker sign and Deliver the witten with in Deed unto Tryon Patterson
sworn to before me this 29th day of August 1800
Recorded 13th February 1800 or 1801 hard to read.
    • This is a great find and I believe this is the same Robert Parker that was in the SC 1790 census. I have been adding the information you have been posting to my file as well as adding information from Parker families that are from Gates Co., NC.
      • I was looking at Isaac Parker who is listed on the 1790; Census Place: Greenville, South Carolina; Series: M637; Roll: 11; Page: 113; Image: 83; Family History Library Film: 0568151 and Robert Parker who is listed1790; Census Place: Greenville, South Carolina; Series: M637; Roll: 11; Page: 113; Image: 83; Family History Library Film: 0568151. Since they are listed as living next to each other and neither one on them are listed in the 1800 census in Greenville, South Carolina.
Isaac Parker married Nancy Jones 1785 Greenville Co., SC.
NOTE: One of male Parker males did a y-DNA test some time back and did not match with any Parker family so I just assumed that Isaac Parker didn't belong to FG#7 BUT now that I have a lot more experience with the Parker DNA Project. I looked at the results of his test again. The tester has a lot of y-DNA connections to family that is a different name than Parker and we need another Parker male from another proven line from Isaac Parker to do a y-DNA test until then I am going with Isaac and Robert being close kin.
        • A little more info. War of 1812 list Jesse, I believe our Jesse, Isaac and Elisha Parker all in the same Military Company in the war of 1812. Who is this Isaac Parker. Who is this Elisha Parker. Is this the James Elisha Parker who some think YDNA 7 or 5 or 1 that was around Parker Ynda 7. And there is Isaac Parker in Livingston County, Tax Record, I think listing Jones. Supposedly Thomas Moore in the Livingston County, Kentucky Tax record, and maybe Montgomery County, North Carolina. See Moore Research. Robert Parker who died before 1807, son of Dempsey Parker, Dempsey Parker, son of Daniel Parker. Gates County, North Carolina Tax Record list Robert Parker of Dempsey. The other Robert Parkers I believe are the non married Robert Parker, son of Robert Parker Senior. And Robert Parker Senior who died around 1800, 1797. Also found a Robert Parker, son of John Swann Parker in the Guardianship Records, 1814. All for now.
