I am searching for descendants of John Mitchell Parker, born Gilmer Co., GA about 1849, died Murray County, GA about 1924; married Nancy Jane Shelton.  Known children include Houston Fincher Parker, Mack Cager [McCager] Parker, William R. Parker, Martha Levisa Parker, Alice Vicie Parker, Ladusky Parker, Mashburn C. Parker, Hood D. Parker, and Exley Parker.

  • I am searching for the grandparents of John Pleasant Parker (1781-1849), IL, and was wondering about the name "Pleasant." His father was James (1752-1835), born in CT, died in IL, but I can't find anything before that.  Any info would be appreciated!
    • I wish I could help you.   Pleasant is an unusual name.  There may well be a connection between your John and my John, but I have no clue as to what it might be.  If you learn anything of interest, please post at this website.  Good Luck!

    • I know only his parents. His father is Pleasant Parker, who died in Gilmer Co.,, GA about 1852-54. His mother was Rebecca Jane Bates, daughter of James M. Bates and Rachel. Pleasant and Jane had 5 children. After Pleasant's death, Jane married Joshua Mooney. They had more children. Jane and Joshua as well as many of their descendants are buried in Gilmer Co., GA John and his wife moved away with her mother into the edge of North Carolina, near the community of Culberson. Later John and Nancy moved to Murray Co., GA
