Hi all,My great-great grandmother was Julia Parker, b. about 1833. In 1850 she was living with the Stephen Thomas family, in Ashe, NC. She married William Maxwell, had 9 children and died in 1917. I cannot find a death certificate for her, have looked for guardianship records or to see if she was perhaps an orphan who had been "bound out" as many were in Ashe Co. Nothing. I'm wondering if she was related to Jesse Parker, also of Ashe, or to John Parker of Wilkes County, NC, who lived in TN Before moving back to Ashe, but can find no proof.Anyhow... If anyone knows anything about her parents or other Parker's from that area, I'd love to break through this brick wall.

Hi Robin, I believe Jesse and John might be brothers (I do not yet have proof, but, my research points to that as a potential answer). Jesse Parker is my fifth-great-grandfather. I am unable to find who his parents are. If you have any information, I would be delighted to hear of it!
