Tennessee Parkers of Rhea and Bledsoe Counties.

Howdy, still working on my Parker family tree.

At present it stops with Hezekiah V. Parker and his spouse Mary Ann Smith of Rhea and Bledsoe Counties, Tennessee in the later 1820's & early 1830's.

It has been suggested Hezekiah's father was one Phillip Parker and further suggested that Phillip is the son of Nathaniel Parker who moved to Tennessee from Virginia but I have been unable to find a son of Nathaniel named Phillip.  If anyone is aware of any Phillip Parker resident in Tennessee during the timeframe of 1790-1830, I would appreciate contact and any help progressing this further.

Thank you for your time and attention.  Wayne Powell

  • Have you found the other children of that Nathaniel Parker? I ask because my John Parker bn 1796 in Grainger County TN - the year TN became a state - named two of his sons Nathan. John Nathan Parker and Nathan Brock Parker.

1805 Grainger County tax list also includes a James Parker and a Phelix (Felix) Parker. Don’t know if they are related.
  • There is a Phillip Parker in the 1805 Grainger Co. Tax list. It’s online. Ancestry hadn’t managed to take it over yet.

Maybe there is a write up somewhere on him about his ancestors since he was a minister.
  • Family group YDNA 26, FamilySearch.org has Philip as father, which I think comes from a family bible record. But not all children have that as a source. P315. Philip Washington Parker born before 1850, died 1862-1863, Lawrence County, Arkansas. More to come, need to leave. 1850 Census Benton Co MO, your man Hezekiah Parker going by H V Parker. 13 children, 7 in Census.

  • Hello Wayne from another Wayne,
I am Administrator of the FamilyTreeDNA Parker DNA Project and saw where you have transferred your y-DNA from another testing company to FamilytreeDNA. You need to set your Acct. setting to allow the Administrator to see your your results and see if you match into any of our groups.
