LODEAN AND ROSEANNE PARKER (GREESON)

HELLO EVERYONE! I am looking for direct descendants/ancestors of Roseanne Greeson (Maiden name Parker). My aunt recently showed me an old family bible and notebook filled with family names, including QUANAH PARKER AND ISAAC PARKER. I know for certain that we are related to 'Hanging Judge Isaac Parker', and recently found information that Quanah and Isaac new eachother, and/or were related. Unfortunately that is the only name from the Parker side I know of right now, but will try to get further info. Any help is GREAT!

  • Madeleine, Thanks for your response regarding Isaac Parker (Uncle to Cynthia Ann) and Quanah. Isaac would not accept Quanah's attempts to see him because of the Comanches had killed his father and brothers and kidnapped several of his relatives. Later, there was contact between several of the "Texas" Parkers and Quanah and his sons. Today, each group has a reunion and Powowo and a silver bowl of friendship is passed between each group each year.
  • i should've rephrased this. I do not believe they knew each other, but I have several websites that conclude that there is connection between the two. There is a website that states that Quanah wished to know his white Texas relatives, including Isaac Parker. It states Colonel Mckenzie sent a letter to Isaac, but no reply was reported. My mistake, but here is the website, http://books.google.com/books?id=XGVVSkVVSX4C&pg=PA25&lpg=P...
  • You said "recently found information that Quanah and Isaac new each other". If I understand, you are speaking of Judge Isaac Charles Parker. I would be interested in the source of your information.
