I believe I sent in my DNA findings from Ancestry.com, but I do not know how to find my Family Group, or even if I match up to one.  I have met a couple of people I am related to, but they are new like me and don't have a group yet.

Please let me know my next steps.

Thanks so much,

Gigi Parker Hudnall

  • Okay! I have now had my brother, Dr. Guy Allen Parker, III, take the yDNA - 67 test! I am unclear where to go from here. I just submitted his test to the Parker group at Family Tree DNA. Does anyone know how soon the kit is added and the results show which group we belong to?
  • My father was >Guy Allen Parker, Jr. >> Guy Allen Parker, Sr. >>> Charles Marion Parker >>>> Nathan Allen Parker >>>>>Bunyan Parker
I will try to have my brother take the yDNA test so we can figure it out, but if you know about any of these, that would be great!
  • Gigi, what are some of the names that you are related to in the Parker family? But as Michael said, doing the DNA is best as it will support you paper work, most of the time.
  • The family # is given to yDNA matches. Your DNA test is mDNA as a female test subject. Only males have a Y chromosome, you need a Parker male in your line to test. Or prove a line with research. Mike
