According to the 1850 census of Troup Co., GA his occupation was a Waggonmaker.  Source of Marriage to Thomaston Thomas Perkins comes from an interview with Edwin Lee Stephenson Dated 1996 at Edwin Dea Stephenson's by a John H. Rose and also Cindy Bishop Fentress.

mamawgreen Oct 13-2010 9:50 PM GMT I noticed you listed a source of an interview with Edwin Lee Stephenson and was wondering if you personally interviewed this person or is it from another source? And how he is related to the Parker or Perkins family. I want to use your information as a source but I was just wondering who this Edwin is in relation to the Parker and Perkins Line. Thank you so much, I am just curious. Elizabeth Green Message in Sent johnhrose Jan 5 7:56 AM

GMT Edwin Lee Stephenson was my grandfather. He gave me all of his research before he died. We spent many hours going through virtually all of it. I have tried to carry on and expand the research. There are several Perkins members in the line. Feel free to email if I can be of assistance. john.rose@windstream.net .

Note* I have since found records of Henry Perkins Bible record with the marriage information as well as the actual marriage document.

Note from fellow ancestry tree

Daniel Parker Clan

Daniel Parker of Chatam Co. NC.

(Born Nov. 1756: Albemarle Co. Va.)

Daniel Parker, age 73, made application  for pension as a Revolutionary War Veteran in Upson Co. Ga. 1832. He entered service as a private  of horse at Chatam Court House NC. Sept. 15 1780 under the command of Cpt. Mark Patterson, attached to Col. Thos. Taylor’s Reg. Daniel was a resident of Chatam County.

Daniel Parker married Lucy Ann White of Virginia abt. 1784. We first find them on the 1790 Census: Edenton Dist. Hertford Co. NC.  About 1791-92 Daniel moved his family to Thomaston, Upson Co. Ga. Circumstances would indicate that Daniel and his descendents fit the typical migration patterns of the southeast where-in  settler families progressively  move westward as the government continues to grab ’Indian’ lands through treaty and seizure. The family relocates across Georgia: Wilkes Ga. 1809, 1810-25 Jones Ga. 1827 Talbot Ga. By 1850 the clan has moved on to Alabama, mostly Barbour County.

One of the named children of Daniel Parker in his probated will of 1840 is ‘Sherwood’ Parker. ‘Sherrod’ White Parker is co-located with the family in Troup Ga. And again in Barbour Co. Alabama. Its appears the name ‘Sherwood’ and ‘Sherrod’ refer to the same person.

E.H. Parker (Elvington)  is the first son born to Stephen White Parker in 1810. He first appears on the 1850 Census with wife Thomastana (named for the town?) at Troup, Talbot, Ga.  A wagon maker. By 1860 E.H. Parker and sons are ‘Mechanics’ in Linden, Marengo Co. Ala.  Also in the county are Sherod H. Parker (son of Sherrod W. Parker?) and wife Susan Easley.

*Jesse Sherwood Parker, born 1844 is the third son of E.H. Parker

  • Michael R. Parker, O.D., your welcome. I just wish I could prove Stephen Parker is Elvington’s father. But I do have descendants that connect to Daniel via my male Parker cousin’s DNA on ancestry to Edward Marion Parker, a son of Stephen. So I’m still working on it. Would like to bring it back to the first immigrant likely from England. Glad my post has been able to help you out!
  • If I have not told you thank you for this post before- I used it today while attempting to build a tree of my yDNA family to find an elusive Daniel Parker, born abt 1821-22. I traced back to Richard Parker, Sr born 1775-6, d 1799 working back from Elvington H. Parker. Thank you!!
