Descendant of Quanah Parker

Hello Everyone !I'm trying to find out more about my family tree. Quanah Parker was my Great, Great Grandfather. My Great Grandfather was Asa Parker, my grandfather was Ellis Parker, my dad was Ben Ellis Parker. In one of the pictures I've seen of Quanah's wives there is one that has to have my Great, GreatGrandmother in it because my sister Colleen is the spitting image of her. I don't know her namethough. They never give the names under the wives pictures. I went to Fort Parker today & lookedaround & got the Parker Genealogy Chart. It was not totally accurate. It does not show my GreatGrandfather in it. I'm thinking of going over to Lawton, Ok. & going through the court houserecords to see if I can find out anything. There is suppose to be a Ledger that Quanah's descendantscan sign. At one time it was at the Bank in either Mexia or Groesbeck,Tx. but they moved it yearsago. If anyone has any ideas for me to try I'd welcome them.Carolyn Ann (Parker) Tankersley

  • My Dad Ellis Parker's father was James Manley Parker
  • My Dad was Ellis Clifford Parker. He was married before he married my Mother. Idk if he had other children. Did you know Ellis?
  • To Carolyn Tankersly:  If you have a blood line descent from Major Ellis Parker (born 1832 in Hinds Co. Mississippi, married Martha Ann Walker, d. 1902 East Texas) you may be a part of Family Group #7 of the Parker Surname YDNA Project.  Although you seek also to be related to Quanah, that is not possible, as Quanah was related to Family Group #5 through his mother, Cynthia Ann.  FG#7 and FG#5 are completely different blood lines, and families.

I will be happy to share what I have on Major Ellis Parker's ancestors and descendants.  I do not research Quanah, but others can help you..

Your search for these ancestors began several years ago, and by now, you may have already learned these family facts.  If not, I can be reached here at Parker Heritage or at jandpparker@msn.com.

  • First, I must say that I have not found a Ruby Voy Phillips within the first 5 generations of the Quanah Parker family.
Without any dates on the George Parker it is very difficult correctly identify him. Death certificates usually will show both parents names and where George Parker was born.

IF he wa a George E Parker who is found in Roswell NM, then:

  • Mr. Yarbrough, where could I find a genealogy on Quanah Parker? My daughter's mother-in-law, Cheryl Lynn Parker, b. 9 Apr, 1951 in Roswell, NM, claims to be from his line and she asked me to try and find proof. Her father's name was George Parker who married Ruby Voy Phillips (dates unknown but both born circa 1922-1925) If I could look over Quanah's tree I might find a link. Thank you in advance. TC
  • Malee, Could you provide any dates and locations for your Parkers? There are over 446,000 parkers now in the USA.
