NOTE: Part of this theory was proved to be correct he is part of FG#7 but no proof yet that he is the grandson of Peter Parker. Wayne

I propose a theory about the ancestors of Moses Parker (1744-1830) died Marlboro Co., SC as I believe he may be part of FG#7 and need help in proving or disproving this theory. A Male Parker y-DNA test would be great !!!

I have found that Moses son, John Parker born SC was in Humphreys Co., TN at the same time as P252 oldest know ancestor Calvin Parker who was born in SC and then John Parker moved to Bibb Co., AL and was living there at the same time P412 oldest know ancestor Moses Parker born SC is living in Bibb Co., AL

I think Moses Parker (1744-1830) could be the grandson of Peter Parker of Chowan Co., NC who was the son Richard Parker III died 1750 in Chowan Co., NC

According to Mrs. Raymond Parker Fouts book “Following the Land” pages 31-32, Peter Parker son of Richard Parker III had at least three sons, Elisha Parker, Sr., Jonathan Parker and Moses Parker.

I had some information on Elisha Parker family but nothing on Jonathan or Moses Parker. Any information on Jonathan or Moses Parker families needed.

From page 31 of Following the land Moses Parker is a witness when Peter Parker made a deed to his son Jonathan Parker on 17 April 1749. Page 32 Peter Parker sold 150 acres to Richard Parker of Nansemond Co., VA on December 1-1755 and Moses Parker was a witness.

Could this Moses Parker be the father or uncle of the Moses Parker (1744-1830)????

Since Moses Parker (1744-1830) was married twice and had 22 children this could be the key to some of the members of FG#7 SC connections.

Also found this information below today but have not had time to check it out yet.

During a recent search in the South Carolina Archives, I found early land plats for Moses (1787), Elisha,Sr.(1784/1785/1787/1802), Elisha, Jr. (1788)., and Stephen ,Jr.(1787) PARKER in Cheraw District, SC. Most of this land was in close proximity to and on both sides of the PeeDee River which would now be NE Chesterfield Co. and NW Marlboro Co. near Cheraw. Mentioned in the land descriptions are Bear Creek, Beaver Creek, Gum Swamp, and Panther Creek. Would appreciate corresponding with anyone with information on any of these PARKER families.

  • 1796 Gates County, North Carolina Tax List. Jonathan Parker of Moses Parker. Also, Jonathan Parker of Isaac Parker.
    • Thanks for the information, I will check in out. I am posting some more information about Moses Parker below.

FG#7 Kit # 150901, Kit #335606 both trace back to Moses Parker born August 26, 1744 died November 12, 1830.
      Five members of FG#7 have a marker value for DYS439 of 13 compared to a marker value of 12 for the other members of FG#7. Kit # 672776, Kit # 255768, Kit # 355606, Kit # 150901, Kit # 242853

I believe Moses and his brother John Parker were born in Nansemond Co., VA. There is a Moses and Hardy Parker living close by each other in Nansemond County, VA in the right time frame but I have not found any records to connect them to the Moses Parker who died in 1830 in SC.

Moses Parker bought and sold land on both sides of the North Carolina and South Carolina state line in
Richmond [now Scotland] County, North Carolina and Marlboro County, South Carolina.

Moses Parker Parker Served in the South Carolina Militia during the American Revolution.

I have information on 19 of his 22 children at this time,

So what stared out as a theory some years ago is now a proven fact, thanks to a team effort.

      • 1799 Gates County, North Carolina Tax List. Jesse Parker, Easther Parker, Kedar Parker. Space, and then Daniel Parker, Bethey Parker or Betsey Parker, Jonathan Parker. Space, and then Miles Parker, John Parker, Jonathan Parker and ?Zachariah Parker. Jesse Benton Captaincy. Do we have 2 or 3 Jonathan Parker?
        • Steven I believe there are two Jonathan Parker, based on the information below.

Easther (Esther) Parker of Gates Co., NC died Bef. March 21, 1804 was wife of Elisha Parker, Sr. (FG#7) who died Bet. 1793 – 1794. Elisha Parker, Sr. father was Peter Parker and Elisha grandfather was Richard Parker III who died about 1749 in Chowan Co., NC (FG#7). I have information on Elisha and Esther Parker family but I don’t have anything on Elisha brothers Moses and Jonathan Parker of Gates Co., NC. I believe the Jonathan Parker listed as Jonathan Parker, Sr. is the son of Moses Parker that you found listed in the 1796 Gates Co., NC tax list. Now comes the bigger question, who is the grandfather of Jonathan Parker, Sr who father is Moses Parker, could he be either Moses or Jonathan Parker, sons of Peter Parker. Peter Parker was the son of Richard Parker III.

I have information on Jonathan Parker (FG#7) of Gates Co., NC, the son of Isaac and Ann Williams Parker. I believe this is the Jonathan Parker listed as Jonathan Parker, Jr. on the 1800 Gates Co., NC census. He had two males listed under 10 that would Exum F. Parker born November 16, 1795 and John Garrison Parker born about 1796.
This Parker family descend from Daniel Parker, son of Richard Parker III.
As a side note, Zechariah ( Zacheriah,Zedekiah) Parker brother of Jonathan and son of Isaac and Ann Williams Parker, moved from Gates Co., NC to SC, MS and died in 1855 Caldwell Parish LA.
          • Zachariah Parker and Jonathan Parker, Gates County, North Carolina Tax List years. Zachariah Parker 1785-1789, 1791-1792, 1797-1799, 1804, 1806. More than one don't know. Jonathan Parker 1791-1796, 2 in 1793 and 1796. Junior, Senior 1797-1798. Two Jonathan Parker 1799. Jonathan 1800 and Jonathan Senior 1800. Two Jonathan 1801. Junior, Senior 1802-1803. One Jonathan 1805-1812, 1814. Tax record included 1784-1812, 1814.
          • Looking at the information that I have on Peter Parker and his three sons Moses, Jonathan and Elisha Parker. I have Elisha Parker, Sr. (FG#7) born about 1725 died Bet. 1793 – 1794. I have no date of birth for Moses and Jonathan Parker, the brothers of Elisha Parker, Sr.
We have a Jonathan Parker listed 1796 Gates County, North Carolina Tax List. Jonathan Parker of Moses Parker. We have a Jonathan Parker, Sr. listed on the 1800 Gates Co., NC census as being born before 1755. I don’t know how many years before 1755 butso for now I will say 1754 and his father Moses was 21 years old at his birth then Moses DOB would be 1733 or maybe earlier as I don’t know the true DOB for Jonathan. Then this Moses Parker could be the son of Peter Parker as Elisha Parker was born about about 1725.
I am going out on another of of my limbs and add Jonathan Parker as the son of Moses Parker, who father is Peter Parker and Peter father is Richard Parker III.

            Wayne
      • Jonathan Parker Junior and Senior 1797, 1798, 1802, 1803. Jesse Benton Captaincy. Gates County, North Carolina Tax List. The Junior and Senior probably is Jonathan of Moses and Jonathan of Isaac. More later. Moses never listed, only the Jonathan of Moses.
      • I have the family of Jonathan Parker son of Isaac in my file as FG#7 Kit # 480307
