Hello Dennis,

You have been a BIG BIG help to me in the past, I would like to get your blessing and help in becoming the new Administrator of the Parker DNA Project.

I know that it the past you have implemented the ideas that I recommended on the old Parker DNA Project website such as adding the FG#'s on the Ancestors Page to each person that has been tested. I still use this page in my day to day research.

I am in the processes of looking at several different ways to expand my involvement in field of Genealogy research. One of my new project is converting all the data in my FTM file into a text file so I could publish an e-book or in my my case several volumes just on the Parker family. I have been evaluating  a pre-release version of Ancestral Author Solfware (AA 3.0) that will run on a Linux OS computer like mine.  This experience has been very productive as I have seen the ideas that I recommended are being used in the new version.

I had hoped someone else would have stepped up and help you with the Parker DNA Project but no one has so I will and yes I have looked at both the pro's and con's before taking on the responsibility of the Parker DNA Project. I am ready to get to work. I have seen and read the messages both on the Parker DNA Project website and Parker Heritage website plus messages send directly to me. So I know something needs to be done ASAP to get the Parker DNA Project back on track!!!!!

Hope to hear from you ASAP.

  • Hi Wayne,

My name is James Russell Parker and I had my DNA done through Ancestry. I have uploaded my raw data into FTDNA. I have not been able to find out which group I am from. Is there any way to find this out or do I need to take the FTDNA test? Thank you for all of your help on this site.
    • Hi James,

Since I am new to this have you done this see below. (you may have done this already)

How do I take part in the Family Tree DNA Y-DNA Transfer program?

You may take part in the Family Tree DNA Y-DNA Transfer program by following these steps.

Go to the Y-DNA Transfer page.
Select the transfer package that is right for you, and click on the Order Now button beside it.
Select the male option (only male Y-DNA tests can be transferred).
Click the Proceed to Checkout button.
      Review and complete your order.

After your order has been placed, we display your new kit number and password. We also send a copy to your email account.

Sign in to your myFTDNA account
Look for the square that says Y-DNA Transfer? Input Your Results Here and click.
Carefully review and follow the instructions on the page to complete the process.
After you have uploaded your results, you must send documentation of your results from your original testing company so we may verify these results belong to you. Please include your kit number. Send your documentation via email to dnatransfer@familytreedna.com or fax to (713) 868-1242.

    Hi Wayne,

Until 1/1/2018 I was the chair of the Physics and Astronomy Department at OU and very much involved with a 37 million dollar Physics building at OU. Then 2 eye operations this year. So I haven’t been involved for some time. The Parker DNA project is fairly large and requires attention. I am reading all of the complaints and I am addressing them one at a time. Once I have corrected all of the obvious problems I will send out a bulk email to everyone.

I appreciate your willingness to help. I will email Dennis to get his opinion. I personally would like some help.

    Regards,
    Greg
    • Thank you, Greg! We are willing to help continue the success of the Parker yDNA Project in whatever role. An explosion of new testing hit in the past six months. Michael R. Parker, O.D.
  • Update on the Parker DNA Project.

    Hi Greg,

    OK.
I am ready and able to help you out any way that I can. I only step up because of the complaints that we are seeing both on the Parker DNA Project and on the Dr. Mitchael R. Parker website Parker Heritage as I am one on the Moderator on the same website.
So it is not my patients that you should be worried about because I have a "ton" of information about FG#7 as part of my ongoing research on my Parker family.
You should be worried about the many new customers that have spend out their money on DNA testing only to be left out in the dark.

You wrote "I will take care of your complaint in the next couple of days. I hope you can provide some useful suggestions"
I want you to realized that it is not I (Wayne) that has a complaint but you need to read the comments that are posted on your own website.

I have cc Mike so you can see that we both want to help.

I just want to see other researchers get the help that they rightly deserve from the Parker DNA Project and am willing to help them any you and Dennis West any way that I can.

Am I correct in assuming that you did not receive a reply from Dennis to your March 22nd email? Also, have you only contacted Dennis or have you tried emailing Gregory (the other admin) as well?
