Parker DNA Project request.

Hello everyone,

I am posting this information here on PH because we have many members who are part of the Parker DNA Project.

To all members of the Parker DNA Project. I have found that in order for the Administrators to do our work. I need for all members to check and see your access granted setting is set to limited and if it is you need to changed to the Advanced setting so the Administrators can do our work. Thanks you all. Wayne N. Parker

  • Hi Wayne
    ,
I followed the instructions, completed the information and paid the supplemental money and I have heard nothing. Can you fill me in on next steps.

    Regards
    Jim
    • Hi Jim,
I just checked the member information for the Parker DNA Project and I could not find any information about you. I checked both by your name and e-mail address. How you joined the Parker DNA Project and got your Kit #? You can e-mail your Kit # to my e-mail address waynenparker@yahoo.com and I will look into it. Wayne
  • Hi Wayne, what is the path I need to follow to do that. I am part of that project.
    • Hi James,
I am Co-Administrator for the FTDNA Parker Project.
Since you did not have your y-DNA tested by FTDNA but by another DNA testing company your Parker y-DNA information was not transferred from the old Parker DNA Project web site to the FTDNA web site. If you want to transfer your y-DNA information to the FTDNA Parker Project. you need to go to their web site https://www.familytreedna.com/ and scroll down to the bottom of the home page and click on to this link Learning Center listed under the SUPPORT subject.
Then go to Frequently Asked Questions and read the information about transferring your y-DNA info and how to join the Parker DNA FTDNA Project.

  • Hi, Can you tell me how to do that??? If you haven't already done that?
    Thanks Mary Parker Smith
    • Hi Mary,
I see that you tested with ancestry dna. Have you tested with Family Tree DNA? The Parker DNA Project that I administrator is a Family Tree project. I checked the members list on the Family Tree and did not see a listing for Mary Parker Smith.

      • Wayne,
People have also added a lot of my family info on family search, and wikitree.
If you do wikitree, my Parker's are there as well as my gedmatch ID number Wikitree Parker-26342
      • Hello, I did the autosomal test through ancestry as did my sister. My dads is on this site and has been for several years, It is a paternal test. I have not done a test through this company

        https://www.familytreedna.com/autosomal-transfer

I did put my dna on gedmatch and have found several matches that are also matches on ancestry.com

I would guess you would locate it under
        William Elijah Parker P235,group 17

several years passed and the test got cheaper , so my sister and I did the autosomal one on ancestry.com. My dads line had already been proven except for William Elijah Parker's dad, John Parker, which the ancestry dna helped us locate, his siblings and parents. We have numerous dna matches to several of his siblings descendants. We knew these were the Parker paternal line , and not my moms as she is of German from Russia heritage, both paternally and maternally.
        Thank You Mary Parker Smith

PS Do I need to put my autosomal dna results on that other site now?

        • Mary,
I went to the old Parker y-DNA website and saw the info for William Elijah Parker P235,group 17 but since this was a test from ancestry y-DNA it was not transferred to the FTDNA site. Do you have a Kit number for any results that involved a transfer to FTDNA as I will need that info to check on FTDNA Parker Project? Yes I do know about Wikitree and gedmatch but I am not a administrator for them just FTDNA.
