I have revisted my research of this family. The is what I have found. I need other researcher to chech it out as I may or may not have it right.I had thought

Kinchen Parker 1790 - 1860 b: Abt. 1790 in NC parents were Hardy PARKER, b 1749 and Susana BOWZER but I can not find any proof.

    Hi, Is this part of the Hardy Parker(1) b.ca.1745 line? He married second Susan Parydice/Purydice and was originally from Duplin Co, N.C., and moved about 1817 to Washington Co.GA. There are also several of Susan Parydice's relatives in that area. Below is what I have on Hardy (1). It is a little confusing, but there are other Parkers named with them. Kathy Wells.

    PROOF:
    ----- He is mentioned in his father's Will;
    -----He was married previously and had his son Hardy II, by his first wife, her name is unknown;
    -----Hardy I begins recorded documents & tax records about 1767 in New Hanover County;
    -----1761, Oct 23 - New Hanover - Thomas Parker was granted land at probably Motts Ferry; "Early New Hanover Co, Records"/Eliz. McKoy pg 196, this is his father Thomas Parker.
    -----1762 - New Hanover - Thomas Parker sells 100 acres on N. side of Black River on path of Motts Ferry to DENNIS MOORE; Book E pg 9-1762; "Early New Hanover Co, Records"/Eliz. McKoy pg 196. Again, his father Thomas.
    -----1767 New Hanover Taxpayer Hardy Parker.
    -----1769 May 6, - New Hanover 300 acres on E.side of Widow MOORES Creek;
    -----1769 Jul 5, - N.H.- Hardy was Impaneled for Petit Jury; "New Hanover County Court Minutes 1738-1769"/by Walker pg 99;
    ----1772 Jan - N.H. - Hardy Parker to Nathaniel McGufford;
    -----1778 Sep 18, - New Hanover - 100acres on Horse Branch of Long Creek;
    -----1779 Jul 7, - New Hanover -110 acres borders said Parker's 'late' survey;
    -----1780 Apr 13, - New Hanover 100 acres on Horse Branch;
    ---- Next I will try to explain the distiction between Hardy Parker I who is the one in New Hanover County and must have married Susan Pardice in 1798 as his second wife; and the Hardy Parker II, in Duplin county by the census in 1786, married Suzanne Bowzer in April 1785.
    -----1786 Duplin State census - this has to be his son Hardy Parker II. Census shows (Hardy Parker - 1 male 2l-60/1 female-BUT NO CHILDREN, Emanual Bowzer, Jacob Wells & Henry Allin are nearby); this has to be his son Hardy II because there are no children yet, and below you can see by the 1790 census that Hardy I in New Hanover Co. had several children born before 1786. This establishes Hardy I/Sr. was the one in New Hanover Co., Hardy II/Jr. was the one in Duplin co. Also, If Hardy II had married Susan Paradice, he would not be married until 1798. So Hardy II/Jr. was just newly married according to Marriage records of Duplin Co., April 1785 to Suzanne Bowzer, daughter of Emanuel Bowzer. Also you can see below, that there were several instances where Emanual Bowzer and his sons-in-laws Jacob Wells and Henry Allin were near or next to Hardy II in Duplin County. And, there were a few instances where Wm. Paradice sr & Jr. were close to Hardy Parker !
    I. So this would make sense that Hardy I was the one that married Susan Paradice,, and Hardy II married Susanna Bowzer.
    -----There was no 1786 census for New Hanover County.
    -----1790 New Hanover, Wilmington Dist. Fed Census pg 192 Hardy I (Hardy & another male over 16, 3 male under 16, 5 female including wife);
    -----1790 Duplin Fed Cen Hardy II, (Hardy, wife & 2 children; father-in-law, Emanuel Bowzer next to him);
    ---- Early New Hanover County Records/McKoy pg 209; In 1799 a deed states the town Parkersborough was sold by HARDY PARKER SR. AND HARDY PARKER JR. to John McLellan. Act of Assembly in 1798 laid out 32 acres for town of Parkersborough. This connects Hardy Parker I/Sr. and Hardy Parker II/Jr.
    ---- Marriage Bonds of Duplin Co. 1749-1868/Bass pg 84 Hardy Parker married Susan Parydice 1798. (Susan Parydice must be his second wife because his son Hardy Jr was born about 1760-1768) (we also know it is not Hardy II because Hardy II married Susanna Bowzer in 1785 and is mentioned in Susanna Bowzers father's Will and he is still married to her when Susanna Bowzers mother died in 1810, and because Emanuel Bowzer lives next to Hardy Parker II for many years in late 1700s Duplin Co., Also, Hardy Parker I was in New Hanover until after 1800, then he moved to Duplin Co for a while, but Hardy Parker II was the one in Duplin County in late 1700s, and several documents are recorded with Hardy II and his brother-in-laws as witnesses, and with land bordering his in Duplin Co.);
    ---- Hardy Parker I, moved to Duplin Co, probably to be with his son Hardy Parker II or Jr. after 1800, and disappeared from Tax Rolls in Duplin Co. about 1817, he may be the Hardy Parker in Georgia in 1820. "The Georgians, Genealogies of pioneer Settlers"/Jeanette Austin pg 272 talks about Hardy Parker b. about 1749 (this is Hardy I), drew land grants in Burke Co. Ga. in 1805, 1814 (don't know which one). But then it states he married in 1785 Susanna Bowzer (wife of Hardy II). I believe this book has mixed together Hardy Parker I and Hardy Parker II. The author also states Hardy's father was John who left a Will in 1788 New Hanover Co. John was brother of Hardy Parker I, not his father. Thomas Parker mentions sons Hardy Parker and John Parker in his Will.
    ----Also in book "The Georgians, Genealogies of pioneer Settlers"/Jeanette Austin pg 274, shows a William Paradise married a Hannah Parker. I believe this Wm. Paradise is the one who made deed in 1794, Duplin Co., and is Susan Paradise's brother or nephew, so if Hardy I and second wife Susan Paradise moved to Georgia it makes sense that her relative might also marry a Parker (and Hannah may possibly be a daughter of Hardy I and his first wife) and moved to Georgia.
    -----Also in book "The Georgians, Genealogies of pioneer Settlers"/Jeanette Austin pg 272, she has listed a son named James who died in Screven Co, GA. This would be a son of Hardy Parker I, because looking at deeds below, there is a James Parker associated with Hardy Parker I, in New Hanover Co. , and James is too old to be a son of Hardy Parker II. And I believe James Leander Parker is the son of Hardy Parker II, and James leander Parker died in 1882 in Lufkin, Angelina Co, TX, one county away from Hardy Parker III.
    DEEDS (from deed books), CENSUS & TAXES:
    -----1791 Jul - New Hanover - Deed, Hardy Parker to James Parker (Hardy I);
    -----1792 Nov - New Hanover - Hardy & James Parker build road to Ferry, I believe this James Parker is probably a son to Hardy I, "Early New Hanover Co, Records"/Eliz. McKoy pg 196;
    -----1794 Mar 1, - N.H., Hardy Parker called for Juror (Hardy I);
    -----1798 Mar - N.H. Hardy Parker called for Juror (Hardy I);
    -----1798 Jun 19, - N.H. Hardy Parker one of several defaulted Jurors fined (Hardy I);
    -----1798 - New Hanover - Pettigrew MOORES Will left land to son Benjamin Moore on MOORES Creek joining Hardy Parkers land; "Early New Hanover Co, Records"/Eliz. McKoy pg 51;
    -----1799 - N.H. Parkersborough was sold by Hardy Parker Sr. & Hardy Parker Jr. to John McClellan; "Early New Hanover Co, Records"/Eliz. McKoy pg 209, Book L. pg 652; I have this deed; This clearly calls them Hardy Parker Sr. & Hardy Parker Jr. I know this isn't always father & son, but usually it is. And there were so many Parker relatives in the area, why would the two 'Hardy' Parkers buy and sell land together if they weren't father & son?
    -----1800 New Hanover Fed Census Hardy I, (1 male over 45, 3 male 16-26, 2 male under 10, 1 female 10-16, 1 female over 45);
    -----1800 Duplin Fed Census Hardy II, (1 male 26-45, 1 male under 10, 2 female under 10, 1 female 10-16, and 1 female 26-45) nearby Jacob Parker (1 male 16-26, 1 male under 10, 1 female 26-45 his wife), brother-in-laws Henry Allen, Jacob wells )
    -----1810 Duplin Fed census Hardy I, (2 male under 10, 1 male 45^, 2 female under 10, 1 female 10-16 & 16-26, 26-45, and 1 female 45^, also 1 slave), This may be the part of New Hanover county that became Duplin County, or Hardy I moved to Duplin County to be near his son;
    ---- 1810 Duplin Fed Census Hardy II, (2 male under 10, 1 male 26-45, 2 female under 10, 1 female 26-45) (cousin Jacob nearby);
    -----1811-1818 Jacob Parker was in Wayne Co, MS; His brother Asa & possible brother Peter were in GA & AL, and Hardy I, may have gone to GA or AL also?
    -----1817 Hardy I, disappears from Tax Rolls in 1817, we believe he is the Hardy Parker in Washington Co, GA. Hardy married Susan Paradise for a second wife, and Wm. Paradise Jr is there in Washington Co, GA, and a James Paradise (probably son of Wm. paradise) married a Hannah Parker (probably daughter of Hardy I) in next county over, Jefferson Co, GA.
    -----1820 Perry Co, MS - Hardy II and Jacob are in Perry Co, MS by 1820.
    NOTES:
    ----Hardy Sr. I, birthdate was estimated by: 1810 census his age is over 45, which means he was born before 1765; Jul 1769 he was called for petit jury, he had to be at least 18 = born bef 1751; If Hardy II was born about 1765, this Hardy would have been born about 1745.
    ----- I believe Jacob Parker (who goes to Miss. with Hardy II) is the nephew to Hardy I. Hardy's brother John died in 1788, the two boys became orphans and I believe Hardy I, took them in. That would make Jacob and Hardy II cousins, where they were close, and lived next to each other, and moved to Miss. together.

    Searching for any information on William PARADISE. Records indicate there was a William in New Hanover 1755-1765. Tennessee history states two brothers came from NC between 1800-1810. One was William and the other I believe to be John. They may have had a couple of sisters.

    Long shot search for Parker and Paradise marriage early 1700's. The name of Parker Paradise is far from common and is found in two generations in VA and NC/TN. William Paradise is listed in New Hannover 1755-1765 early tax lists.

    -----1791 Jul - New Hanover - Deed, Hardy Parker to James Parker (Hardy I);
    -----1792 Nov - New Hanover - Hardy & James Parker build road to Ferry, I believe this James Parker is probably a son to Hardy I, "Early New Hanover Co, Records"/Eliz. McKoy pg 196;
    -----1794 Mar 1, - N.H., Hardy Parker called for Juror (Hardy I);
    -----1798 Mar - N.H. Hardy Parker called for Juror (Hardy I);
    -----1798 Jun 19, - N.H. Hardy Parker one of several defaulted Jurors fined (Hardy I);
    -----1798 - New Hanover - Pettigrew MOORES Will left land to son Benjamin Moore on MOORES Creek joining Hardy Parkers land; "Early New Hanover Co, Records"/Eliz. McKoy pg 51;
    -----1800 New Hanover Fed Census Hardy I, (1 male over 45, 3 male 16-26, 2 male under 10, 1 female 10-16, 1 female over 45);
    -----1800 Duplin Fed Census Hardy II, (1 male 26-45, 1 male under 10, 2 female under 10, 1 female 10-16, and 1 female 26-45) nearby Jacob Parker (1 male 16-26, 1 male under 10, 1 female 26-45 his wife), brother-in-laws Henry Allen, Jacob wells )
    -----1810 Duplin Fed census Hardy I, (2 male under 10, 1 male 45^, 2 female under 10, 1 female 10-16 & 16-26, 26-45, and 1 female 45^, also 1 slave), This may be the part of New Hanover county that became Duplin County, or Hardy I moved to Duplin County to be near his son;
    ---- 1810 Duplin Fed Census Hardy II, (2 male under 10, 1 male 26-45, 2 female under 10, 1 female 26-45) (cousin Jacob nearby);
That would make Jacob and Hardy II cousins, where they were close, and lived next to each other, and moved to Miss. together.

    Jean,

    Saw your post and how it concerned Jefferson Co., GA Parkers.I was very curious if your William might be a brother to my Kinchen.I have hit a brick wall on Kinchen Parker, believed to be the son of Hardy Parker and Susana Bowzer who were married on 4/19/1785 in Duplin Co., NC.
    Kinchen's siblings were:James, Elizabeth, William, Ealee, Simon and Hannah - that I know of.
    He married Martha Weeks on 23 June 1821 in Jefferson Co., GA.
    Hardy Parker's parents are supposed to be John Parker and Eliza ______.
    I have tracked Kinchen & Martha from Jefferson Co. GA to Harris Co. GA in 1830 to Div. 23, Barbour Co., AL in 1850 (Kinchen split up with Martha for some reason in Barbour Co. before 1860).In 1860 I found him living with his son Walter L. B. Parker in AR and Martha was living with their daugter Mary who had married John Hollingsworth.They were still in Barbour Co., AL.
    If we are working in the same family tree I would like to share information with you.

    As Always,
    Ken Thames

    Kenneth, I do have Kinchen as the brother to my William R. Parker.I have the following as Hardy and Susana Bowzer Parker's children:John Parker, William R. Parker - married Bathsheba Matthews on March 2, 1809, Nanny Parker, James Parker, Elizabeth Parker - married Jessee Wiggins, November 1, 1812 - he was possibly married to Rebecca Knight on January 18, 1810, Ealee Parker - she married
    Thomas Jones on October 28, 1808 in Dupin, N.C., Simon Parker, Kinchen Parker - he married Martha Weeks on June 23, 1821, James Leander Parker, Hardy Andrew Parker III, William Parker, Andrew Parker and Henry Parker.As you can see there were 19 children listed....there are 2 Williams and 2 James.....I think some of these may not be correct or some may have been grandchildren.
    Hardy Andrew Parker II and Susana Bowzer were married on April 19, 1785....I assume in Dupin, North Carolina. Hardy was born there in 1760.I have Hardy died in 1833....that would have 48 years of marriage.
    I was told that Hardy and Susana eventually settled in Emanuel County, Ga.
    There is a book out by the name of "The Parkers in Georgia"I have not seen it myself....I believe it is suppose to be in the library in Emanuel County, Ga.In the book supposedly it tells how our family came from Virginia, to N. C. and spread out after that.Kinchen and William R. are in the Ga. census......I believe William won some land in the lottery and settled in Jeff. Co.
    I have never done any research on Kinchen but would be interested in his lineage for my notes.I do have quite a bit about William R. that I have gathered.....will be willing to share but I have a website if you are interested.The address is: http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~mturner/gay/http://freepages..... rootsweb.com/~mturner/gay/
    I am just not sure about all of these children of Hardy and Susana.....but I do believe, fairly strongly, that William and Kinchen were brothers.Maybe between the 2 of us, we can get more proof.Jean (jncvs@aol.com)

  • Randy.
    Thanks but I have been there and done that as I belong to y-DNA Family Group #7 (FG#7) and found that Hardy Andrew Parker maybe part of FG#22
    P307 FG22— James PARKER Sr, b bef 1800, lived in Duplin Co NC and Screven Co GA (Parents unproven Hardy PARKER, b 1749 and Susana BOWZER)

    Therefore I am looking for a will,Bible records, land records or anything that will help me prove just who Kinchen father was. He may be a Hardy but just which one as there are more that one Hardy.

    Wayne
  • I have looked though the NC census for Kinchen Parker and found his information along with his parents. His name is Hardy Andrew Parker II, his father is Hardy Parker 1st. go to the following census 1790,1810,1820 then you will also find that the parker moved and later resided in Alabama this is shown in the 1850 census, there you will find his family members listed.
  • Thanks Randy

  • I have the Parker in America 1630-1910 by Augustus G Parker. I will look inside and see if any of your present information is in there.
