  • Kathy,
I have more information for you. After looking at the Parker y-DNA Project, I see that your Parker family is part of FG#2 That means you are not kin to Bonnie Parker of FG#7. You can click on the y-DNA link at the top of the page for more information.

    PARKER Family Group 2

P13 and P16 match on 35 of 37 markers. The oldest PARKER ancestor of P13 is John PARKER, b abt 1725 in Ireland. He emmigrated to the U.S. before 1774, when he obtained a land grant in Montgomery Co. VA. He died before 1793. Thomas Bryant PARKER, b 1798 in Grayson Co. VA, d 1850 in Kanesville, Iowa is the oldest PARKER ancestor of P16. Descendents have been searching for the parents of Thomas Bryant PARKER for more than 100 years. Recent evidence had indicated that these two lines could be related, but a solid paper connection could not be established. P13 and P16 had their Y-DNA analysed to determine whether they shared a common ancestor. They are now confident that Thomas Bryant PARKER, b 1798, was a grandson of John PARKER b 1725. P21 and P16 are brothers, and expected to have a high level match.
P24 and P25 were added to this family group on Nov 14,2004 after their DNA analysis was complete. They used a different lab, and there are 27 markers in common between the two labs. They match each other on 40 of 42 markers, and each matches P21 on 41 of 42 markers. They are descended from Joshua PARKER, b 1809 in New York City. Joshua married Druscilla DICKSON (DIXON) HARTLEY, in 1844. The parents of Joshua are thought to be Joshua PARKER and Sarah ROGERS (RODGERS). The Virginia PARKER line of P13 and P16 had no prior connection to the New England area, and we think it is likely that the common ancestor lived in Ireland or England. Additional test subjects are being sought to expand the descendents of this line.
P34 was added to this family group in January 2005, upon completion of his DNA test. He is descended from Moses PARKER, b 1806 in New York City, an older brother of Joshua PARKER, b 1809.
P36 was added to this family group in Jan 2005. His DNA test was done as part of the Sorenson Molecular Genealogy project, and his DNA profile was found by searching for matches in that data base to DNA profiles of one of our participants. He is also descended from the line of Joshua PARKER of New York.
P54 was added to this lineage on 25 July 2005. He has an exact DNA match to P24 and P34.
P56 a descendant of Joseph Faulkner Parker and Mary Elizabeth Ross was added to this lineage on 8 August 2005. He has an exact DNA match to P13, P16, P21 and P54.
P90 matches the modal values for Family 2 on all 37 markers. The oldest ancestor of P90 is Thomas Bryant PARKER, born 1798 in Grayson Co. VA, died 1850 in Kanesville, Iowa.
P132 was added to this group on 11 Oct 2006. He matches P25 on 29 on 30 markers. He is descended from Joshua PARKER born 1778 in Cortlandt, Westchester County, New York, died 27 Sept 1819 in Westford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
P128 was added to this group on 10 November 2006. He matches P13 25 / 25. P128 is descended from John PARKER, born about 1725 in Ireland, died 1792/3 in Grayson County Virginia. John PARKER married Hannah.
P178 was added to this group on 12 March 2008. His oldest ancestor prior to the DNA test was Albert PARKER, b 1891 in Kansas or Colorado, died 1964 in Phoenix, Arizona. The DNA test has allowed genealogist in Family Group 2 to identify P178 as a descendent of John PARKER, born 1725 in Ireland. He has added 175 years to his family history.
P293 was added to this group in May 2011. He also descends from John PARKER born about 1725 in Ireland and died in Grayson County, North Carolina in 1793.
P331 was added to this group in October 2011.
The common ancestor of the lines of John PARKER and Joshua PARKER is still unknown, but the marker DYS 449 appears to be a point of differentiation between these lines.
