  • children of John P PARKER, John Hillman, Albert Newton, Hugh Robert, Jefferson Davis, Carrie A, Martha E PARKER, Beauregard T PARKER and W PARKER. W probably for William PARKER. 1870 Census Jackson Co NC, has the children of Nancy Queen PARKER. John P PARKER died of dysentery in the civil War, was captured by the North. John P PARKER was in a civil war prison camp, fought for the south, and died in 1864. Solomon or John, one of them most likely the father of John P PARKER. Both John and Solomon are very close to John P PARKER in the Census records.
  • John PARKER married Nancy QUEEN, Haywood Co NC, July 1850. children of John and nancy queen PARKER are A M or N, M J, D J or P, M E or C, H R or R C PARKER. Other children are B T and W PARKER. This information comes from 1860 and 1870 Haywood Co. NC Census and the Jackson Co NC Census. 1860 for Haywood Co NC and 1870 for Jackson Co NC Census. I believe John PARKER born 1831 is listed with John PARKER born 1803 and this John born in 1803 was born in South Carolina. Also of note there is a William PARKER age 5 when John P PARKER was age 19. 1850, 1860, and 1870 Censuses is where this information came from, and also there are QUEEN families nearby. children of John PARKER 1803 and another Nancy PARKER, P M or N, Q A, John P, Mary, Elizabeth, William age 5, Thomas age 3, Alfred age 1, in 1850 Census.
In 1860 Census J A, listed as a child, R, P, H, and R 4/12 months listed as the other children of John PARKER born 1803 SC with wife Nancy. So you have John P PARKER marriage to nancy Queen and John PARKER marrying another Nancy.
  • I'm trying to determine if they had a son named William E Parker. This would almost certainly tie him into my family. Now, however, I just discovered a possible link on Familysearch.org which would give him a possible dob of 1831 in North Carolina. Anyone have any information? I'm new to this and don't really know how to research this and how to find documents. Any advice would be appreciated.
  • Good luck with you search, I'm not a relative, but the names ring a bell. I just took a look. Marriage record surfaced just off the top. You probably have that. What's the frustration?
