Bennie Frank Parker

I am looking for the family of my grandfather, Benny F. Parker who died in the Vietnam War.  He was born on June 2nd 1940 and died on January 30th 1966.  He Married my grandmother, Monica on June 20th and had my mother, Patricia Parker Gillespie.  He served a tour in Korea.  He had at least one brother, George W. Parker i think, born on July 16th 1947.  He had atleast 4 sisters i think, Bernice, Marianne, Mattie Jean and Rosie May Montez? (Again not 100 percent sure on this info.)  I believe Bernice Vera Parker was born on July 3rd 1941, Mattie Jean Parker was born on April 25th, 1944 and Marianne(Or Mary Ann) i believe was born on December 6th 1942.  He is burried at Union Cemetary in Bakersfield California.  He had a cousin, His mothers name was Annie Campas? Another name was maybe Bearnice Campas and Julaio Campas( Possible grandparents). He had a cousin, Barbara Weldon.  Some pictures of the siblings were sent to an Uncle Ray? I believe that his Grandfathers last name was Abataka and was the chief.. My mothers indian name is Talia which means sunshine.

Any information that anyone has is greatly appreciated..

Thank you

Kieran (Bennie F Parkers grandson)

  • Nice find Jack. Kieran never got back in touch with me. I will try to contact her. Mike
  • Looking at that Ruby L, she is 15 in 1940, but listed as married. She is also listed as the sister-in-law to Henry Sheldon. Therefore she is the sister to Henrys wife Pearl. Her husband is not present - was he deployed at that point and she went to live with her sister? In which case, I wonder if her husband is Jessie Clyde Parker who died in 1970. https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JNC2-71J

Henry was born in 1914 in Michigan.

That's a reach on my part.

I would look into marriage records for South Carolina ca 1932-1939. If you can't figure Ruby out, try her sister Pearl - see what her maiden name was, then look for a marriage of Ruby <MaidenName> and <xxx> Parker.
  • Here is (perhaps) his find-a-grave entry: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Parker&am...

There are a lot of possible hits for him, one that looks interesting is a census record: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:K48N-4HN

Where he is listed as 0 years old and in the household of an uncle. His mother is then probably the Ruby Parker in the same household.

    Merry Xmas
    Jack Parker

  • Michael R. Parker
I have his birth certificate.. I do not have ancestry.com .. Thank you!
  • Do you have Ancestry, com? If so finding his birth certificate and death certificate should be easy to find, also 1940 census may have him if he was born after census-if not look for older siblings in census. Please ask if you need help. Mike
