  • Hi David,

I will be looking for more information  about your Parker family but will be after Thanksgiving.

Thanks for your comments about my Parker research, I enjoyed every minute of my research but have slowed down in my research lately.

  • Hi Wayne,

I wanted to reach out to you about the Parkers from Orange County, NC. I am P124 on the Parker DNA Project and I am confident that I can trace back on paperto Robert or Thomas Parker who had settled in the Richmond County/ Essex County Va in the 1660s.   Any guidance or assistance you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I am quite impressed with the amount of Research you have on the Parkers!

  • Hi Nancy,

I have part of your William and Esther Parker Leggett, Jr  family in my file.

Yes I would like to know more about your DNA test.

    My e-mail address is waynenparker@yahoo.com.

  • Hi Wayne, I am Nancy Harelson Berkemeyer. I live in Pope County, Arkansas and am descended from Moses Parker{1744-1830) Marlboro District, S. C. my ancestor is his daughter, Esther; who married William Leggett,jr in South Carolina and lived in Madison Co. Mississippi.

I have had a DNA  test through Ancestry. If I can provide you a number of some sort is it possible for you to look at it and see what connection I have to the Parker Heritage?

Thank you for this consideration. Nancy

  • Hi Wayne,

I'm sorry to hear that Jim Yarbrough had passed.  I'm new here so I didn't realize that, so thank you for letting me know.  I had seen a few of his posts about my Parker side & he seemed to know a lot.

Also, thank you for the information that his granddaughter is a member here also.

  • Thomas,

Thanks for responding to my questions.

I would highly recommend that you go ahead and have you y-DNA tested because we Parker come from some many different Parker lines that are not related to each other. It would make your job of tracing your Parker family easier.

Yes you will find many different unrelated Parker family trees online  that seem to trace back to the Browsholm Parker most DO NOT. I have a lots of information based on my research of this Parker family back to Peter de Alcancotes before I discovered that they are not my family ( based on the level of research as of today).

  • Wayne,

It would be James Parker Sr.  Beyond that it is based on other Ancestry.com trees.  I'm just now getting the time to really start looking and verifying data. Have not done DNA, considering it. I saw some trees from the Browsholm Parkers that appear it may be an offshoot, lot of names matching but dates aren't adding up.  So, still have a long ways to go to learn how to verify besides looking at other trees.

  • My name is Cheryl Cannon Tocco.  My family goes back to Richard Parker and Elizabeth King also.  Thank you for all of the interesting information.  I found this through a DNA test with Ancestry.com, and am on the James Parker and James Parker DNA circles.  Can you tell me which Parker Group to join?

  • I have been having problems with updating my on-line database and after three weeks of tying everything to fix it failed, I deleted it.

I have two on-line file up and running and will update them one at a time so that way I will always have at least file on-line that is working.
