  • That is very interesting! I look forward to reading more of your stories and information you have worked so hard on. While my husband isn't technically a Parker family member, he is a patrol Sergeant for Hunt county. Interesting that I would choose someone in that profession. I am a Registered Nurse, so I guess public servitude is in our blood. Haha! Thank you for your reply! Have a great evening!

  • Hello Mandy,

I will add the information about Suzy Parker and her sister to my file.

Yes you are correct about Bonnie Parker (see info below)

Our Parker family also has many who have several in Law enforcement.

Also the actor and winemaker,  Fess Parker is part of our Parker family.

  • Wayne,

I don't know if you have this on your genealogy page, but George Lofton Parker (Dena Elizabeth Parker's brother and son of James "Bud" Parker and Amanda Little) is also the father of model/actress Suzy Parker (Cecelia Ann Renee Parker) and her sisters, Dorian Elizabeth Leigh Parker, Florian Adeline Parker, and Georgia Belle Laura Parker.

I also have a question about Bonnie Parker.  I read that she is related to Parker Group #7.  Was her father, Charlie, the son of James Jeptha Parker?  I have read so many family trees, and they all have different names.  Thanks again!

  • Hello Wayne-

I'm fairly sure that the Aaron you have listed could be him....He and his wife are proving to be "ghosts" from finding solid data. I had to delete a good portion of information on Rebecca recently as I found that there were some discrepancies in birth data and marriage. I found the information I was using was from another Rebecca Sherrills (AKA: Sherrill, Shields) who married a Zachary Tolliver, not Aaron.

yDNA is pending results, and they should be in April. Maybe this will drive a few leaves loose!

Thanks for the details Wayne!  I'm going to see if I can dig into this deeper.

  • Thanks Wayne, I understand that sometimes you have to step away from ancestry and come back later with fresh eyes. Hope you enjoyed your other hobby. I won't give up, I have been too long and hard for what I do have to give up. I was looking at the census records I do have for Elvington for any other parkers in the area, but I only found his two sons Richard & William in a separate household that is. In the agriculture census of 1860 he only had 1 cow, 11 swine, 3000+ bushels of corn, and 5 bushels of potatoes. So he wasn't poor poor but he wasn't well off. No Stephens anywhere, but I think he followed the Perkins family to Alabama which is his wife's family. Doubtful he had a will, I'm going to do some more checking on web sites in Troup County Ga. Thanks for your help Elizabeth (liz)

  • Hi Elizabeth,

I have been busy working on another of my hobbies today. I do that from time to time to let my brain rest from genealogy research. You are on the right track in your research.

A couple or three years ago I found a Bible record that confirmed something that I had been working on since the fall of 1991 and I was not even looking for that Bible record when I found it. The reason that I am telling you this is never ever give up hope. Keep digging and looking. The Bible that contained the information that I was looking for was found in a wall of an old house, it was left or lost in the house sometime in the 1940's It has got wet at some point. Hope you don't have to wait that long on your Bible records.

  • Hi Wayne,

I have sent a friend request to the four names you have given me. I am not sure how to contact Janice's family. I tried a search but since I don't know too much about her children I am not sure. Hoping to get someone verify the bible records of Stephen White Parker. I was wondering if maybe Elvington was disowned or something and that may be why the records are lacking. Other than the fires and war's that have destroyed or records. But perhaps I am wrong al together. The bible record for Sherwood white parker does not list an Elvington. Perhaps a descendant of Major Richard Parker?? Perhaps the Stephen Parker that descends from Major Richard Parker?? So many confusing and missing things, A huge puzzle in need of solving! I have difficulty in seeing the big pictures but look at details, so maybe it is staring right at me! back to hunting.....

  • Has anyone seen a will for Stephen W Parker and Elizabeth Ridley?

  • Wayne that's what I was thinking that Stephen and Elizabeth Ridley may be the parents of Elvington Parker. I will check my documenets and let you know what draws me to this possibility Liz
