William Thornton Parker ??

Does any one know anything about this Parker?  He was probably born in the early seventeen hundreds.  Someone has listed him as Nicholas Parker's father (Anson County) on ancestry .com I am so hoping he had a son named Nicholas.

  • Gail,

Our Family Tree has Thornton Parker 1793 Hampshire (Mineral) Co, (WEST) VIRGINIA and then Thornton H. PARKER, Mary Thornton PARKER, James Thornton PARKER, Thornton Russell PARKER, and another Thornton PARKER, all born in the 1800s and none with a son named Nicholas.

Our tree also has Nicholas PARKER 1700 in PA, no father and a Nicholas PARKER born about 1602 in ENGLAND, father Capt Willian PARKER of Tidewater VA.

While all are tempting, none of these looks like a hit for your William Thornton PARKER. You are welcomed to join our Family Tree Database at

    • Thanks Kathy Jo, The information was helpful. This William Thornton couldn't be Nicholas's father. He was born 100 years later. I have learned not to believe everything I see on Ancestry Family Trees, that is why I sent the message out to Parker Heritage. A lot of people are having trouble finding correct sources when it comes to Nicholas. Hopefully someone will discover who his daddy was, then I can research before Anson County, N.C. Good place for me to start is this Abraham Parker mentioned in the book. Gail
