NOTE:  Update June 2023  Richard Parker of Nansemond Co., VA is part of  Parker DNA Family #7 and Dr. Richard Parker of Charles City Co., and Henrico Co.,  VA is part of Parker DNA Family #16.  Wayne

Revisited and or updates on the research of the three Richard Parker that lived in early VA all at the same time. It seems like so many researcher are getting the three different Richard Parker mixed up.
Richard Parker of Nansemond Co., VA.
Richard Parker, Dr. of Charles City Co., and Henrico Co.,  VA
Richard Parker of Surry Co., VA
First let me say that I have more knowledge on the Richard Parker of Nansemond Co., VA (also know as y-DNA FG#7, I am P239 of that group), than the two other Richard Parker.
Therefore I want to thank the many researcher of the two other Richard Parker.
I hope that what I am posting will start to help clear up some of the confusion about which descendants belong to each Richard Parker. As always please do your own research.
This is a link to my on-line file where I have all three Richard Parker listed.

http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=REG&db=parker_2008&id=I16149

At this time I have not found and connections between the three Parker families on the male lines. There may be connection back in England and I would not be surprised to find connection on the female line in the USA.
I am only listing a few of the first generations from each line on PH and not all children are listed as this too is a work in progress.

Y-DNA FG#16

P394 was added to this group in September 2013. He descends from William Parker, born between 1748 and 1750 in Hunting Creek, Halifx County VA. He was the son of William PARKER and Martha Drucilla COLQUITT.

Which wife does the researcher have for William Parker the son of William Parker and Martha Drucilla Colquitt?

(Martha Perrin  Cardwell or Ann Hendrick)???  If is is Ann Hendrich then we know which Parker  y-DNA  family Dr. Richard Parker belongs to but if it is Martha Perrin  Cardwell  then we don't.

I believe these and other records clearly show that Drusilla Colquitt Parker's son as the William Parker married  to Ann Hendrick, daughter of John Hendrick living on Mriey Creek of Halifax Co. Va and not Martha Perrin Cardwell who married a William Parker in Charlotte Co. Va before April of 1780. …

Hello, My interest in these William Parkers is that my 1 Peter Hudson daughter Sarah married Edward Parker. 1 Peter land was in Henrico/Lunenburg/Halifax on Difficult Creek. So while searching for Sarah Hudson Parker family I came upon these two Parker families. They were born about the same time, 1740's.

One William Parker lived on Mirey Creek area of Halifax Co. Va and is connected with Hendrick, Colquitt, Easley and family lines in Charlotte Co.VA. And is connected to the Dr. Richard Parker family.
The William Parker of Mirey Creek married Martha Perrin .(NOTE: SEE NEW INFO IN POST ABOVE W.N. P.)
I have not yet discovered where this William Parker and his children went. I did find that a William Parker of Mirey Creek married a Ann Hendrick. So it possible their William Parker had son William Parker the jr.

(Halifax County, VA, Court Orders, 8:238)

The other William Parker lived in and around the Difficult Creek are. Their families are the Owen, Nichols, Womack's, Abbott's and Jenkins of Difficult Creek area.
Both William, Francis and Edward Parker lived on Difficult, Clover and Black Walnut Creek area. Their son's and daughter's married families from the same area. And they are were well acquainted with Rev. Thomas Dodson.
Both William and Francis Parker went to Smith Co, Tenn and died there. Their Will's can be found on line at the Smith Co. Tenn web site. Their children along with Rev. Miles West each of the others Will.

Now look at people on Difficult Creek area

Now check the 1782 Tithe list of Halifax. And you will see
Edward, William and Francis Parker there. Edward is living near John Owens.
William is living near Charles Hudson, which is the son of 2 Peter Hudson. And Francis is living near Ambrose Estes. Which is noted in the survey list.
Hope this will help someone find the right line.

  • The 2 Thomas PARKER early, one of them had an eldest son George. He was under age, probably under 21. Going through the book Following the Land there are very few George PARKER in the index. So I'm wondering if this Thomas PARKER with a son George is not from Family group YDNA 7. Your thoughts. Also, only 1 moses PARKER and zero Andrew PARKER. Nansemond Co VA, Chowan Co NC, Gates Co NC, also noticed that a group of PARKER were right on the border of Virginia and North carolina.
    • Hi Steven,
I will look into your questions about George and Andrew.
As to your question about Moses, earlier this month I started to research the family of Moses Parker (1744-1830) of McColl, Marlboro Co., SC as maybe part of FG#7 since he has 22 children by both wives since his descendants show up in TN and AL living near FG#7 members but as you know that may or may not mean anything.

I suspect we are going to find out that we have a lot of FG#7 member that were still living along the VA and NC borders as well as NC and SC borders in the 1700's and early 1800's.

I also heard from a very good Box researcher who helped me out on getting my Box family information right.
