Never Hurts To Ask!

Sometime back I ask if you could find out who P309 in the DNA project was?  I figured it is private information but just thought I would ask.  A lady just came into the museum that I work at, and told me that see had seen the question on Parker Heritage and said her brother was P309.  She lives in the same county I live in.  We are planning a get together and compare research.  Can you believe that!!

  • I had tried but the new way the data is provided makes it difficult to find. Glad you made a connection. Patience pays off in research.
    • Yes I am glad it worked for you Gail. I also have found that leaving flowers on Find a Grave is a very good way to get in touch with other family researcher.

Mike, I am very very unhappy about the Parker y-DNA Project.. It has gone from being one of the very best web sites for Parker Genealogy research to the point of just about being useless. WHY????

      • I sent Dennis a message re the yDNA project but no reply.
        • Thanks Mike.
          • We may have to figure out a way to display the data in a user friendly format on PH.
            • Yes something needs to be done, Count me in.
      • I will ask Dennis West.
        • Congrats to you Gail. I love connecting with people who are related.. so much fun! Wane, I emailed Dennis some time ago, and I mean a year or more asking how I could get in touch with the two Parkers that are an exact match on the project but no group was created. I never heard a word back. I am assuming that the site is not defunct and not usable for new persons who want to submit DNA results and connect with others there. You and I have corresponded just a bit, but I would really like to know who the people are who submitted those samples. My contact info can be sent to them....it's very important. can you help in any way? thanks, Jennifer
          • Jennifer,

The Parker y-DNA Project is still very much alive because we just had three new members added one in Dec, 2016 and two in Jan 2017. The BIG BIG problem is the web sites are not being updated!!!1
Now to your question. I understand that some people that do DNA testing may wish to keep their names private there appear to me that many other do not mind, I fit into the second group because I believe that researchers who are not able to find a male member of their Parker family alive, need a way to get in touch with their Parker DNA cousins who have been tested that don't care to keep their names private. At this time I do not know how to contact any other member of the Parker y-DNA project other than members of FG#7 and since I research many other Parker families lines it is very flustered that I have no way to even leave a message that I would like to ask them some questions!!!!!!
