Josephus or Joseph PARKER was in the civil war fighting for the south.  See Confederate pension record for Nancy Ann PARKER.  Wonder if there is any info in this record to help determine where he was born in Alabama.  1850 Census for Josephus PARKER list his wife Nancy in Houston Co TX.  1860  Census for Joe or Jos PARKER list his wife and children.  Also 3 very other interesting items.  Family next to Josephus PARKER also born Alabama.  Were they from the same area in Alabama these 2 families.  Next H W ALLEN next to Josephus or Jos PARKER in the Census.  Possibly younger brother of Nancy Ann ALLEN.    There is a William ALLEN with a son William H not H W, right age in Cherokee County TX,  possible father of Nancy Ann ALLEN.

  • josephus was my great great grandpa i have the document that lists his birthplace in Alabama says Conoco/conaco . after much research on this town or county....it is more than likely he is from connecuh co al pronunciation sounds like the conaco that was listed. b 1823 says he was 5'11'' light complexion and blue eyes
    • 1820 Conecuh County, alabama state Census. Isaiah PARKER, John PARKER, John PARKER Jr, Needham PARKER, Samuel PARKER, W ALLEN, Henry ALLEN. In my opinion Josephus PARKER was born in Conecuh County, Alabama. Someone has John ALLEN father of Nancy Ann ALLEN. What information are they using to make this statement.
      • Hello Steven,

        • Thank you very much for the information. I looked at this info and have not come across a reference for a definite link that John ALLEN is the father of Nancy Ann ALLEN. See no bible record, land record, probate record, or other court record directly linkling Nancy Ann ALLEN as the daughter of John ALLEN. Is there an ALLEN book stating the connection. Maybe I'm missing something. Is there a record in Lowndes county, alabama directly linking Nancy Ann to John ALLEN. And also no record here of William ALLEN either. Calculated is stated so is this not a definite conclusion that John ALLEN is the father of Nancy Ann ALLEN.
Does the cemetary record link Nancy ann to her father John ALLEN. A marriage record linking Nancy Ann to John.
          • Steven,
You have a lot of good points. I wish I could be of more help on this one but heath problems prevent me from doing a lot of research right now. That why I posted what I have and where I got it from because it looks like you are on a roll so keep digging and please post what you find.

Getting old is not fun sometimes but it is better that not being here at all. :)
            Keep up the good work.

            Your cousin,
            Wayne
