From the research that I done the other day and today, it looks like your common ancestor is James Calhoun Parker b.1844 Habersham Co., GA d. 1929 Walker Co., GA.
David line is from James C, Parker first wife and Bradley line is from his second wife, Please double check and let me know,
David you said that you were thinking about doing the y-DNA test. I highly recommend that you go ahead and do the test and I would encourage Bradley do the same.
Also as part of my research, I recommend that you check out Penelope (Pennie) Scalf Parker daughter of Lewis Scalf as she may be part of your family line from NC to GA.
