Kinda stuck with trying to advance my Parker lineage. Only have one male Parker ancestor and haven't got with him on doing the DNA thing.  As far back as I've been able to go with any certainty is my great grandfather. His name was John C Parker im pretty sure he was born in/around Vanceburg Ky  1882. His wifes name was Elizebeth (sp) Newman. She was supposedly Native American and had the name Eveningstar. She also may have been a burlesque dancer or other adult profession at some point. They lived in Scioto County Ohio (Portsmouth) in the early 1900s. This is where my Grandfather Stanley Parker was born in 1923 and his sister Doris in 1925.  I would really love some help if anyone has any info at all. Im not sure I will be able to do the DNA and I want to make a Family album for my relatives.

                                                                                                                                                              Thanks, Matthew Parker

  • I found a connection from John C. Parker b.1881 KY m.Elizabeth Ilene Newman -son of William Campbell P. b.1846 grandson of William B.Parker b.1815 PA m.1837 Cincinatti, Hamilton,Ohio Achsah J. Campbell.

There are numrous mentions of Mason County,KY which is just across the Ohio River from Portsmoth-Scioto. There is a PG5 Asher Parker b.1757 living in same area, same time. My 4ggf PG5 James was in Butler/Hamilton Counties and sons married Shoemakers from Scioto. Your quest looks interestingly close to mine!
